There is an adjustment screw for setting how much oil flows onto the chain. I think it is on the bottom of the saw -- check your manual if you still have it. I think if you back the screw out it feeds more oil. You should see oil spray lightly if you rev the engine in the air pointing it towards a piece of wood.

I have a poulan ES300 electric chainsaw and have been having a problem with the saw blade getting lubricated. I put the lubricant in the resevoir but oil is not flowing on the blade. How do I repair this...

Take the bar off. Then run the saw to see if oil is coming out.If it is make sure the oil hole in the bar is not plugged up.This happens after some use.To clean the bar you can use a small flat blade screw drive.Just scrape down the grove. You will see a small hole at the end where it bolts on.If you have an air hose just blow it out.It has to be open for the oil to get to the bar.

My husqvarna automatic chain oiler doesn,t work...235 husqvarna any fixes?.

You may have gotten some saw dust particles inside the oil resevoir that got sucked into the delivery tube, thus clogging up the oiler...you can drain the oil out of resevoir and run some seafoam thru the oil resevoir to see if you can get it unclogged

What type of oil does my black and decker chainsaw need

You can use SAE 30 weight motor oil or bar and chain oil. Press the bulb on the resevoir cap 2x before each cut making sure the saw is pointed down and to the right to let the gravity feed oiling system work properly.

Excessive oil from the chain oiler. oil resevoir is empty and fuel is still 3/4 full. Saw is two weeks old. Oil sprays off the bar.

What kind of oil did you put in there?? The bar and chain oil is so thick, i can't see it slinging anywhere, you must have used 2 stroke in there. It's OK, That is all I use in my Husky, but it doesn't sling off. I don't know if you have a part missing or what, but there is a little damper right under the chain guard. Check it out, hope this helps.

My 3516AVX is not oiling the chain, although the resevoir is filled.

can you verify the bar oil holes are clear?
is the breather on the oil tank working? air should be able to get in but not let oil out

can you verify the drum / sprocket is turning the pump worm gear ?

is the oil tank filter clean, not blocked, and oil line to pump clear ?

is the oil outlet passage to bar mount face clear ? if all of the above are ok then you have a faulty pump replace it and reassemble saw
refill oil tank and test

be sure to remove clutch assy turning it clockwise to remove it
it has a left hand thread

Not getting oil to my bar

From your description, the oil pump appears to be toast. Look at the back of the clutch housing for a spiral thread which drives the pump. There is normally only one active oil port in the side of the engine case and oil should just ooze out of the port when the engine runs (you may have to re-install the clutch to get this to happen). Check the two oil channels in the drive end of the bar which feed oil out to the chain groove on both sides. Don't flush the tank with fuel unless it is full of dirt or other contaminants. When you get everything back together, run the saw tip at speed near some cardboard, it should throw off a thin line of oil after several moments. Hope this helps!

How much chain oil should go in the resevoir

until it reaches the top. it is essential to keep it topped up and not let it get too low otherwise it blunts thye chain and wears the bar

Chainsaw oiler issue

THE FIRST THING I WOULD CHECK IS THE BREATHER IT HAS TO LET AIR IN SOMEWHERE AS THE OIL FLOWS OUT IT MAY BE CLOGGED TRY RUNNING THE SAW WITH THE OIL CAP OF DONT DO ANY CUTTING JUST RUNSEE IF IT OILS THEN IF NOT MOST SAWS HAVE A OIL FLOW ADJUSTMENT SCREW TAKE THE BAR OFF AND LOOK AROUND WERE THE OIL COMES OUT THE ONLY OTHER THING IT MAY BE IS A CLOG IN THE LINE

Remington chain saw oil problem

hi,

yes sounds as if you have gummed up the port for the oiler. you will need to clean the oil resevoir out using some kerosene or mineral spirits this will clean the port out and will not be harsh on the plastic. bar and chain oil is thick but has a sticky quality or viscosity that allows it to lubricate gas engines mor effectively and uses the heat from the engine to help thin it to a consistency to be of use to the bar and chain. on an electric chain saw there is not enough heat to allow this. a good oil resevoir cleaning and replace you oil with a light weight oil recommended this should do the trick. good luck hope this helped.

Mcculloch chainsaw 2014 Eager ****** Model 00032-14

a fix that sometimes works is to add kerosene to oil tank where the oil would go normally and rev saw several times with out load holding blade in down position over a piece of dry card board so you can see the oil spraying on the piece of cardboard careful of moving chain
