A common problem is the heating element goes bad. I have had this happen and you can see a spot on the heating element which looks different from the rest of the element (a clue).

Many ovens have two heating elements. Upper and lower. Now I am no Julia Child, but I think bake turns on just the lower heating element? And broil turns on just the top heating element????

So I suppose you might have it on bake and it is not working. Might try broil and see if that works. If yes, then you are getting power through all the controls to the upper heating element, so good chance just the lower heating element is bad.

If you don't get heat to either the upper or lower heating element, then I would suspect the wiring or a control.

So far as the heating element, you should be able to remove it and using an ohm meter, get some sort of reading if it is good (I have no idea what though). Or open circuit if bad.

Also the insulation on older ranges can "melt" back exposing live wires! This is of course very dangerous and the wiring should only be replaced with high heat range wiring which I assume you could get at an appliance store?

Or the contacts on a control/switch could be bad. I would test this with a continuity tester or ohm meter.

Many appliances have a wiring diagram down low somewhere. Or might find it online.

The stove top works fine .Both of the ovens stopped working and there is no digital display where the clock is . Where is the fuse located for the ovens

Normally, there is a master switch on the wall near the oven. This is in turn is usually fed from its own fuse/breaker on the consumer unit. I suspect this has bblown.

Hello, We have a Kenmore gas stove model # 71761. The burners on top work good. The issue is with the oven portion. Oven is working. Flame comes on upon ignition to desired temperature setting and then...

It sounds like yous stove is working fine. Cycles fine. If you think the stove is cycling more often than when new then ck the seal on the door. You may be loosing heat.

I have a kenmore electric stove. The top burner

I have the same problem, it turns out that the clock has a sensor in it to turn on the oven. If that sensor is not working, which is found in the clock, the oven does not work. I had a repair guy come out and it will cost 350.00 to repair. My stove is only six years old. It is only two months to the day off warranty. Apparently a power outage can cause the sensor to go. Hope this helps.

Propane not getting to oven... stove top works fine..

The pilot light must be lit and stay lit before you will have any propane coming into the oven. This is a safety feature.

Oven stopped working while cooking a meal

it sounds like it burnt one of your main wires in the back of range. by turning a knob on you are getting a feed back. turn the power off remove back panel take a visual check of your wiring.

Oven

Neal, the only thing I can bring up with that model number is a built in wall oven. You said the top burners work fine, so we are missing something here. Sounds to me like a stuck or shorted keypad. Catriver..post back
