I struggled with this problem for hours!!
Ridiculously simple fix - open iPhoto! The camera then registers straight away!

Just force start FinePix's Upload Application.
To do that: Go into Finder and go to applications, find the folder that says 'FinepixViewer' & then open up the 'Upload' application, then it should realize that your camera is connected.

My pc cannot detect my Fujifilm Z33WP connected with usb cord supplied. It used to work but now , nothing...help pls

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I have a fuji finepix z33 wp camera. is it possible to charge battery via usb to computer or usb wall plug?

No. The camera does not contain charging circuitry. You need to use the supplied charger (or equivalent).

Unable to download photos from Finepix z33wp to iphoto on Mac

Use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. Then, from there, send them to iphoto.
