We just got digital cable and I'm trying to use my vcr to record the speed channel, dr. phil, etc. When I went thru setup, it only gave me the options of "cable" and "tv". I tried picking both of them, and I still can record my programs while I'm at work. Please help me. I totally love the goldstar. It's the best vcr that I have ever had.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am considering purchasing a Funai Full HD UpConvert DVD Recorder/VCR Combo. I have a HD Phillips TV with HDMI connections. I do not have cable - just use over the air TV. How do I connect the Fun

Purchase a DVD recorder/player that has a HDMI cable connection and use the connections on the TV so you'll get a hi def picture. RF will NOT give you a Hi Definition picture even if it's up converted.

I have purchased Samsung 550 - series L5 - I don't seem to be able to hook up the VCR to it to record. I have cable on it and I would like to be enable to record programs. Television ask if I want to...

You don't record from TV, you record from cable so cable needs to be hooked up to input on VCR.
If you don't use cable box you would hook cable to VCR then out of VCR to TV. If you use cable box then you need to connect Video and Audio outputs on cable box to Video and Audio inputs on VCR and switch input of VCR to Line input.

I have surroundsound. I have dish network with hd dvr. I have a sony bravia hd tv. I have a dvd player, and cd player. I have a magnavox dvd recorder. I want to record from my dvr to my dvd recorder. ...

To get the functionality you're looking for you'll need to to take the cable running from your DVR output and connect it to the input on your DVD recorder. Next you want to connect a cable from your DVD recorder output and connect it to your TV. If this is an HD set up you want to use HD Cables for all of the connections.

I need to know if I can purchase a new remote for my vcr, and I need to know if this vcr is compatible with an HD TV?

You could try Curry's Partmaster website for the remote. As for the TV it will depend on the TV's imput sockets if you can connect it. Most VCR will only have a scart or S-Video connection. If the TV has these it will work. However even if you can the VCR will not record the HD signals or playback in HD. Though some HD TV's have what's called upscalling. Even so no vcr will ever be as good as a Blue-Ray. And those can record in HD.

I'm trying to get my dvd recorder and vcr hooked up to my new flat screen tv. How do I connect them and what channel do I put my tv on (flatscreens don't have channel 3 or 4) to recognize the dvd recorder...

DVD players do not connect using regular cable connections Your flat screen TV should have separate Audio and Video connections. These are the connections that you should use to connect your VCR and DVD player. If you have a combo unit, that is a single unit that has both DVD and VHS in one box, you might be able to get your VCR to work on the cable connection. However your DVD will not be able to work as the cable connection doesn't allow enough information to pass through. If you go to your local Audio Video store and tell them what you want to connect they should have the cables you need for less than $10.00. Good luck.

Hookup wrong? I can't get the menu to come up for the VR375

New HD tv. Have digital cable box connected to tv., cable box connected to DVD recorder, but can't get setup menu to come up on tv screen. I had a similar problem. I have a HD tv connected to a digital cable box. I hooked up the DVD recorder with the wires it came with, but it would not play or give me the menu. However it was correctly hooked up. So the next day I connected a HDMI wire from the DVD recorder to the tv and everything works now.
