Logik LCD was working, then switched off -now won't switch on

My Logik 50 in LCD was working, then switched off by itself and now won't switch on. When I unplug the power and plug in again the red power light goes on. When I switch "on" with the remote, the blue light comes on (but without flashing first as it normally does), but no picture. The set is about 4 months old.

SOURCE: LG LCD TV Standby Light Flashing Red Continuously

I have had this same problem twice in the past 3 months. So far both times I've been able to get it back after a week or two. I'm not sure what works, but unplugging and detaching the antenna and cable and waiting a few days seems to be the key. In both instances, I unplugged it for a few days then plugged it in for a few days and repeated the processes until I eventually got the steady red led. Both times prior to the red led the led would flash red then green and make a clickiing noise for several hours before I was able to get it working again.

SOURCE: MY lg 32lx1d is not turning on..

I had the same sympton on my tv...it worked fine one day and the next day it would flash a green light a few times you would see the screen power on, but still be dark then the power light would go red. I couldn't do anything on the tv no menus or sound. It turned out to be a bad power supply, a new power supply will run around $200-300 - in my opinion it wasn't worth fixing. My neighbor was able to fix my tv - he repairs electronics - ended up cost me $100.00 - its been running for 7 months now no problems so far...I can have him fix this for you if you are in the area - shipping makes this to expensive..he is located in south jersey...or you can try a tv repair shop ( i called for this but they wanted between $75-100 to just look at the unit + repair cost - i would of been back to the 200-300 range) let me know if you need help...John

SOURCE: LG TV

There is probably a bad capacitor on the power board, I had the same thing happen to my 42LB1DR after 2 years. T.V. would turn on and white power light would blink, no pictue and no sound. If your'e a diy'er, it is not that hard of a fix. Take all the covers off of the back of the tv(UNPLUGGED!!!), then look at all the capacitors on the power board. lcd_repair_4_bad_capacitors_lg.jpg
These are the capacitors, look to see if any of them appear to have a bump on the top of them. They are supposed to be flat, you can also tell if one of them has gone bad if there is an oily substance on the metal cover that was removed. If one of them is in question, carefully remove the board, and take it to an electronics store to have them sotter ?sp on a new capacitor. It ended up costing me around $40.00 to have this done. Good luck and if you are not comfortable trying this, than take it to a repair shop, but I was quoted around $450 to take the T.V. in. No Thanks

SOURCE: 42 LG plasma no picture but sound. found internal

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other parts inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen itself. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say what is 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:

1. Best thing to do, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. Its the best repair guide material for fixing TVs. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

2. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

SOURCE: tv will not switch on - when you press power on

I've answered three of these so far, so this problem must be a very large manufacturer's defect big among large-screen LCD TVs of a bunch of different makes.
It's a power capacitor inside the TV that controls whether the power supply works or not. Our Samsung 46-inch started doing the same thing with about 2 months of a 2-year warranty left in it, and I'm glad we called the local retailer, because they were aware of this problem and gave us the number to Samsung, who paid to send a trained repairman about 60 miles to our house to fix it. During his repair, I helped him remove the large back cover, and set the TV on its face, and asked him about the problem. He detailed to me exactly what I said above, and also that it's been a very big problem with the rush to get new TVs out to market.
If your TV is still under warranty, jump on this situation before it runs out--it is a hardware problem, not fixable otherwise...
If it's out of warranty, your local TV repairman should be able to repair this for less than $100, easy (the part on ours was a $2 capacitor, the repairman said).
Hope this helps.

Logik tv

Hi,
I suspect that this is a Tesco TV?
The fact that it scans on switch on make me think that its flash ram is volatile being unable to record the results. I don't know if this is a battery backed memory or nvram which has an old type store.
If this is within the gtee period take it back.
If the menu allows it find factory reset.
It may be that the stored data is corrupt and unable to write over with the new settings.
Some back door resets are accessed by holding a key down and then switching on the television. Another test to try is to unplug the tv for a day as any corruption may be held by standby current.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

My goodmans tv switched itself off and won't work

Make sure that the electricity is working
Make sure that every connection is in place the
scart connection as well.
Disconnect and wait for 2-5 minutes
and connect and start.

If that does not work look for troubleshooing in the manual or click on the name of your TV here at the top of the page.
good luck
