I've got the LG 32LH5000 1080p tv and i was watching sky sports over the weekend in HD and on the TV it said 1080i. is there a way to change the setting to 1080p?
No. Most broadcasts are limited to 1080i. BlueRay discs and (now defunct HDDVD) are the only time you will see 1080p. I heard DirectTV may also be running 1080p soon (or already have the option). In any case, 1080p requires 2x the bandwith vs. 1080i. I assure you that unless you see them side-by-side, you will not notice the difference. You many not notice the difference when you do see them side-by-side. The broadcast controls the 1080i vs. 1080p (not a setting on your TV).
