HP 8500 Doc Manager Software Does not Scan Multiple Page Document

HP 8500 Wireless Document Manager software only provides a "scan picture" option and not a "scan document" function. This makes adding any additional pages impossible. Please advise (i.e. what am I doing wrong?). Also, I am unable to find a more rebust manual/guide for this software.

SOURCE: scanning...

What do you mean scan? Is it from the printer to the computer? Or just plain copy? When you want to scan to the computer, you need a software that can scan multiple pages. HP's document feeder can copy and fax multiple pages, so if the software supports multiple pages scanning, then I'm sure it can.

Scanner not found on computer

Try un-installing your 8500 related software, re-boot and re-install from disk.
If you don't have the installation disk go to:-

Hi, here's the solution:
  • on the computer look for hp solution center icon.
  • double-click to open it.
  • if you installed the software that came with the printer without any problems you should be able to open the application and see scan document, scan picture menu, etc.
  • click on scan picture button (you must be on the homepage to see this option).
  • click on picture to file
  • click change settings
  • scan shortcut settings will come up.
  • look for output type
  • click from the drop down box to select black and white.
  • click the DONE button
  • click OK on the next page or SCAN

I am trying to scan multiple pages into one document with the HP Officejet 8500

I believe you can't do that from your HP Software. Trust me. It will only save one scan = one file. But you can do that on other applications like Adobe PDF.
Hope my little answer can save you time and hassle for exploring on how to do it on HP Software. ^_^
I will suggest that concern to HP

Hp 8500 scanned documents make pdf too large to email

Try lowering the DPI setting in your scanning software. If you cant find that there are many programs that will resize images. Windows picture manager is one. Save the scan, then resize it using software, then email.

My Officejet Pro 8500 won't scan, although it did fine originally

It won't scan unless the HP scanning software is loaded and running on your PC, it needs to know where and how to scan, which is the scan options. It will scan and make a copy if you press copy, but it won't scan when you press scan unless that software is running.

Scan multiple page with X4550

The 4550 will not allow multi page scanning into a single doc using the provided software. You should try another scan software that is TWAIN or WIA compatible. Those should work okay if you are using a USB connection.
