Hi there! My Kitchenaid oven won't turn off. All of the other buttons seem to work - they make a beeping sound when I touch them too - except the off button! Nothing. I had to pull the plug on my oven. We just bought the house and didn't find a manual. Do you know what the problem could be and how best to fix it? Thank so much, in advance. Linda

I have the same problem with my Kitchenaid oven--did anyone offer a solution?

  • Fullserve Mar 05, 2010

This is exactly the problem that we have had on this
unit. We purchased in 2006 and within 6 months had to replace the entire
front panel because none of the buttons would work.

Within a few weeks, the repaired panel "off" button stopped
working. We came up with the same solution as you and had been using
"stop time" for the last couple of years. There have also been
times when the panel stops working altogether. The solution is to unplug
the oven, wait a few seconds and plug back in. It seems to reset okay.

Tonight, however, we came home to find the house filled with smoke. This
oven had spontaneously turned itself on and was flashing an
"over temp" error. The oven was too hot to touch, so rather
than unplugging it, we turned off the power to the kitchen. After a
couple of hours, we tried turning the power back on and the panel itself
started sparking and clearly was starting an electrical fire. Of course
we immediately unplugged and now are stuck with a $1,600 paperweight.

Any suggestions on negotiating w/ KitchenAid for some compensation?

Just has this happen last night! 4am and the oven is on and smells like an electrical fire. Had to turn the breaker off - very frightening! Anymore information on this?

I had the same issue at 4am - woke to a horrible electrical burning smell and found the oven on and the touchpad not responsive with "communication lost" displayed!! Had to turn the breaker off and now it will stay off until I get a new stove. Very scary!

It appears the 'membrane insert' is defective. I was able to turn my oven off by using the 'stop time'. Just imput one minute ahead of current time, then press start. In one minute the oven will turn off. You can clear the screen by opening the oven door fully, then close.

KitchenAid oven lights flash and it beeps when one door is open.

Hi,

if possible, update all of the bulb lights in your oven and check how they respond when you open various doors on your machine.

If everything works, then it was the bulbs that were the issue. If not, then you might need to reach out to Home Depot and/or Lowe's for a home repair appointment.

Thank you.

I have the KitchenAid microwave oven model KBHC109. For the past few weeks the microwave has been beeping on its own. Sometimes it seems as though we are pressing buttons when we aren't and sometimes...

I am sorry but this is usually the signs your touchpad is going out and the part alone retails for a lil over $300.00. You know your needs better than anyone but in my home we would just keep dealing with it untill it drove us crazy, or quit being usable. Basically the buttons you press are worn and making contact without being pressed.

We have a Kitchenaid Superba gas stove and the beeps would not sound. We thought the control panel was shot, but we have a WONDERFUL repair man. Here was his re-set.....open oven door, push the cancel button, push stop-time button and hold that button for about 5 seconds. When the beep sounds let go and the panel is re-set. WOW!!!!

KitchenAid kemc308kss0 Micro/Oven Combo Microwave: At the end of any cycle there is a four-tone beep that will continue to beep until KINGDOM COME until you either a. open the door b. press cancel. That is...

From page 7 of your owner's manual:

All Tones (combination oven models only)

All of the above tones are preset on, but can be turned off.
To Turn Off/On: Touch and hold STOP TIME for 5 seconds. A

Tone Volume

The volume is preset at high, but can be changed to low.

To Change: Touch and hold the number pad “7” for 5 seconds. A

Kitchenaid Superba Gas Oven Touch Pad not working

We have a gas kitchenaid KGST307HBL9 and the touch pad is blank, but we discovered that you can still touch the buttons and it will work. (example touch bake; temperature; start). It will beep when the target temperature is reached.

Just so we don't forget and leave the oven on, we turn the oven light on as our signal. A little work, but not wanting to "fork" out the money at this time to repair.

Also, if you are handy RepairClinic.com has many items and can also answer question. We've used them for several of our appliance repairs.
