How do I turn on the monitor to my nikon D3000 camera.

  • heather_dena Oct 27, 2010

From the research I have done, it appears that you must use the tiny view finder to take pictures. :(

You can get the shooting information on it. If you're looking to use the D3000 as a point&shoot by viewing the image on the screen, then no, you have to use the viewfinder.

Why wont my nikon d3000 SLR download pictures to my computer ?

First of all, you upload pictures to your computer (you are putting pictures into the computer, not taking them out; downloading). Make sure that your computer's plug-n-play module recognizes that your camera is attached. Depending on if you have a Mac or PC, you may need to download and install a new driver for your computer from the Nikon website. I never connect a USB cable from my camera to the computer for uploads. Instead, I take the SD memory card out of the camera and insert it in the card reader on my iMac. If your computer does not have a built in card reader, many brands of external card readers are available at very low prices on line.

My 64 gb memory card keeps saying full on my Nikon D3000, but yet it won't let me take pictures. It's brand new, and has nothing on it. But yet, when i format the card, it does nothing. Please help?

I may be mistaken but I think that 32 Gb is the most any Nikon can handle. I suggest that you contact Nikon technical support at www.Nikon.com and discuss this with them. They can confirm the maximum size of the SD card and help you troubleshoot if the 64 Gb card is OK.

I have a Nikon D3000 digital camera. When I turn it on the info menu is displayed on the monitor and I cannot see the image that I am shooting. When I turn the info menu off it turns black and says...

That is the factory setting. If had seen the image on the LCD before taking the picture, then there was something seriously wrong with the camera. The D3000 works as SLRs have worked for over half a century, providing you with a viewfinder to compose your photos.

I have a Nikon D3000 camera and it works great, I just can't figure out how to get it so that the screen displays the image I am trying to capture. It shows up on the screen after I take the picture, but I...

Sorry, but the D3000 does not have the LiveView capability. You have to use the viewfinder to frame and compose your pictures, as SLR users have been doing for half a century.

Nikon d3000 Trying to preview the photo prior to clicking the picture. Display only shows a black screen until I click.

On most new DSLR cameras, you must activate "live view" to see the picture on the screen before you take it. Check your manual.

My nikon d3000 is not wanting to focus and will not let me take a picture. I am wondering if some setting might have gotten changed but it just refuses to focus.

Remove the lens.Try cleaning the contacts on the camera body and lens where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

I have a nikon d3000. At first I was able to look through the LCD monitor and see what I was going to shoot, but now it just stays a black screen.

The Nikon D3000 does not have a Live View mode that allows you to see what you're going to shoot in the LCD screen. If you thought you saw something, my best guess is that you were mistaken.
