The navman usually works fine but i plugged it in to the cigarette lighter bit in the car and its not turning on and their is no light on it. I store it in the car in the glove compartment so i had a look in there for any missing bits and i found a black screw top thing which when you twist it onto the usb thing on the navman it fits and then i plugged it in again but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

If PIN feature installed, just turn PIN off and this should bypass allowing the demo to continue. Then go to preferences from the menu, and stop the shop demonstration.

Mine now after being used twice for directions and having turned on about 10 times is stuck at the safety agreement page and every time i press "accept" it loads maps, then the load bar goes back down, seems like it gets stuck and then returns to the safety agreement page.. you can do this over and over again with it stuck in the loop.
Of course it is covered by warranty (as are all new electricals) so i have sent it back but i think if i have the same problem again im going for a tomtom my uncles had one for about 2 years and my cousin about one and both never had a problem..
I think navman may need to review the foundations of the firmware used in their s30 or make it as easy to install from home as the nokias and tomtom's are today.
SOURCE: Navman s30 3d 2009 map update is useless
You should be able to install your old map from the DVD/CD that originally came with your Navman - you don't need a Product Key for this, even if it prompts you for one.
It appears that the commercially available 2009 map for the S-Series does *not* cover the S30 3D, just the non-3D versions, although that's not at all obvious from what's on Navman's web-site, so you have my sympathies if you bought it expecting it to work...

Forget it. I have had the same problem with a S80 and Navman does not give a damn.
I cannot even load the maps I paid for.
Lost my money. Never again.
