1) Check to see if the screen says "EXT DECODER". If it does, press the EXT DECODER button again and this should fix the problem
2) Press input mode button until the display reads auto or digital. It may be set to analog.

How do you connect a Nakamichi surround sound system to my Phillips tv model 42PF7220A/37

I'm confused. The message header shows a problem with a Yamaha RX-V995 receiver.

As for connecting a Nakamichi (or any surround system) to a TV - the only connection would be the Monitor output (video connection) to an appropriate video input of your TV.

If it is a Nakamichi, it is a little older and probly predates the invention of HDMI cables. My guess is you will either use the S video output or Composite video output to the TV's input with similar connections.

This allows you to route whatever video sources you have connected to the Nakamichi to the TV.

Hi. I write from spain. I have the blu-ray LG

Have you tried the another optical cable? They don't tolerate dirty connections or small-radius bends in their routing. THAT (and the expense of optical cables) is why I always choose coaxial connections when possible.

Mp3 connect yamaha rx-v995 ---> muddy sound

Try getting into the configuration menu of the MP3 player and adjust the output controls for external devices....it sounds to me like it might be too high and/or the wrong output decoding.

Yamaha RX-V995 receiver turns on & then powers off 2 seconds late

I suggest you run self diag.  press [FM/AM] key + [Input mode] key and press the [power/standby] switch.

ps prt = power supply problem
dc prt = shorted output or leakly cap in channel
tmp prt means to hot on heatsink

you'll likely have to measure the resistances of the output FETs to find a short,

Yamaha RX-V663 - HDMI doesn't work.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, a workaround:
  • as you posted, audio out of the DVD goes to the receiver;
  • HDMI out of the DVD goes to the Schaub Lorenz LCD.
Even if it were a compatibility issue or HDMI processor issue on the receiver, the above should get you going.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Is Sony DAV-S500 optical input compatible with optical output from Pioneer DVD player DV-566K?

I don't think this has an Optical but a Coaxial connection. You might try a coaxial audio cable not optical.
