Thanks guys

I remembered the fix!!

On the Janome MC 9000

To calibrate the touch screen

1. Turn off
2. on Sewing arm above needle there are a series of buttons
3. Hold down bottom 3 buttons
4. While holding turn on machine
5. Using scribe
6. Touch the centre of each + as it appears
7. It will go Centre bottom rh centre top lh as you select each + position it moves of it's own accord.
8. Turn off machine
9 Turn on and test.

Important sometimes this does not entirely fix prob!!
Simply do it again "Yahoo""
Some mechanics will try to tell U the screen is on it's way out
Bollocks just calibrate.
Thanks

I had this same problem with my Janome 9000. The repair guy told me I needed a new mother board and something else too and that the parts alone would cost $900. He also said that labor would be $65 per hour.

So, ok. I kept the machine but didn't repair it because I could still sew a straight stitch and the other 8 stitches that showed up on the first screen. I figured I could still use it until I saved enough to buy a new machine. I could not, however, get past the first screen. The turn the page icon simply would not work. I couldn't access the stitch length or width regulator page either.

My daughter figured out that if you pushed the space to the right of the icon, you could make it do what you wanted. We found that we could, indeed, access all the pages and all the stitches just by pushing a little to the right of the icon even though there wasn't really much room to push in; especially where you turn the page and go to the next screen. There was what? a 16th of an inch?...you could only get a fingernail in there.

Thanks so very much for your answer. I truly, truly appreciate it. You have saved me about a thousand dollars. Your recalibration fix worked and the machine is perfect once again.

Best to do the reset routine 3 times.
For some reason it can take this many to actually complete the re-calibration successfully

The icons are out of sync.

Have a sewing machine needle handy and turn the machine off.

With your left hand, press and hold /StartStop, Up/Down and reverse while switching on the machine. The screen should display little cross hairs. Using the BLUNT end of the needle NOT THE TIP, press the exact center of the cross hairs. Continue a the cross hairs will change positions on the screen. When finished, switch machine off, wait five seconds and switch back on.

I have a Janome MC9000. The touch screen is out

You need to adjust the screen. Turn the machine off. Press simultaneously the three buttons on the front (Start, reverse and stop) at the same time turn the machine on.

Press the crosses that appear on the screen and it should all be fine.

The sewing advisor screen on a Janome 8000 is getting dim.

When your Memory Craft 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine.
Janome no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available.

Full Access and Installation instructions are provided, so you can DIY or have someone else do the replacement for you.
