Sounds like it may be overheating here are some suggestions.
1) Make sure there is plenty of clearance around the unit so you get good air flow and dont set on the carpet.
2) Clean it up... I use a shop vac and vacuum up the dust that builds up especially around fans and once I am done I use the blow side of the shop vac to blow out any remaining dust.
3)You can add an after market fan set up to the unit thats what I did with mine.
take the cover off and see if it needs cleaning it sounds like thermal shutdown (overheating) after you have checked and or cleaned it start it up and make sure all the fans are working.
the relay on the power board needs to be replaced; if you feel confident to do this:unplug the tv wait about a 1/2 hour then remove the tv's case carefully look for a small black or, brown box about 1/2" x 1" x 1/2" this relay should have a designation such as Rly 1 printed on the circuit board it must be unsoldered and, removed the numbers on the relay can be entered into a search engine to find a replacement
This solution is for the zenith 56" DLP. Unplug the tv, either from the wall socket or the TV. While the TV is unplugged hold the power button on the TV for 40 seconds. This lets the excessive power drain from the TV. If this does not work call 1-800-243-0000. This is the number for their help line. This is the fix the tech gave me and it worked right away. Hope this helps and have a great day.
