1. Enter 5-digit permanent entry code into the keyless entry keypad. 2. Within 5 seconds of pressing last button of code, press the 1/2 button. All doors will lock then unlock confirming you are in programming mode. 3. Press any button on first Keyless Remote within 5 seconds of pressing the 1/2 button. Locks will cycle to indicate succesful programming. 4. I bought a new keypad and 2 VISOR remote (30498). As to programming garage door opener, I did like here: programming garage door opener
- it tooks me 20 minutes and works great
Here are the instructions from the factory service manual: 1. 4. If you are programming more than one Keyless Remote (Including any exsiting remotes) Press any button on second keyless remote within 5 seconds of previous remote. Locks will cycle again to indicate succesfull programming. (If the keypad light goes out before all remotes are programmed the entire process must be repeated). 5. Press the 7/8 and the 9/0 buttons simultaneously on the keypad to exit program mode.
Either the keypad is the wrong model for your opener or it has reverted to an earlier technology and needs to be replaced. It is important that you get the model number off your motor unit so you can be sure you get the right keypad for your opener.
You are going to have to do a process of elimination. I think you have either a bad remote or a bad keypad. Try programming a remote and then the keypad. If only one works then go with the other remote and the keypad. If only one works then program the two remotes. If the two remotes work then the keypad is bad or if you can program one remote and the keypad then the other remote is bad. Get rid of the bad one.
One of your units has reverted from "rolling code" to "billion code" and as you have found they will each work but will not work with each other. The problem is finding out which unit reverted. The most common one is the hand remote but that could be wrong.
. Enter 5-digit permanent entry code into the keyless entry driver door keypad.
If you can program your remotes but when you program your keypad the remotes quit working and vice versa you have either the wrong keypad or it has reverted to an earlier technology. Make sure the keypad is for your specific model door opener.
