Purchased a laptop in July with Office Home and Student 2007 purchased and preinstalled. Now have a new desktop and can't get the activation key from either HP or Microsoft.
You are stuck buying a new copy of the program from Microsoft! Sun Microsystems has a free open-source office program set that mimics and reads Microsoft's Office program files. (several hundred MB of download files)
It only means that your product key is good only for one use, you gonna need to buy a new product key. visit microsoft website
If you activated your copy of Office, go to the Microsoft word or exel and click the MS Office button. (It's where the file options used to be in 2003) and drop that menu down. At the very bottom of the menu, underneath the "close" option, there are two buttons. Choose Word options. Then choose resources (on the left bottom.) Choose About MS and hit button to the right. the license number should be there.
