Try this fix.......

Windows Start-up Errors
Step one, you need a Windows Installation CD. If you only have a recovery disk set like the ones from HP or Compaq they will not do what you need done. Under normal circumstances however, you can use a Dell disk because the Operating system is on a stand-alone disk. All retail versions are also acceptable as well as upgrade disks. For a rule of thumb, if the disk has the Microsoft hologram it should work.
While the computer is first starting up and you see the manufacturers splash screen, tap F12 (some computers it’s F9, others it may be another key, you may have to watch and see if the computer lists the key strokes for getting to the boot menu. If you still cannot find it, boot into the BIOS settings and change your boot order there. Save your settings and exit, the computer will now seek the cd rom as its boot source first.
Place your Windows disk in the computer and start it up. When you see the test at the top of the page “Press Any Key To Boot From CD” Just hit the space bar to activate. The next screen you will see will most likely be a Windows setup screen, when you see this press the “R” key to get to the recovery console. It will get there, it may take a little time, patience. Once it loads you will be given a choice of Windows installations, there should only be one, if there are more, always pick number one. It may ask for an administrators password, if you have not set this particular password, then just leave it blank and press enter. The next prompt you see is:
C:\Windows>
You need to type the following:
cd \
hit enter. Pay close attention to the spacing between the characters. There is a space between the character “d” and the “\”
You are now at the ROOT of the drive, this is where basic commands can be given and changed. You should now see the following:
C:\>
Now type the following:
CHKDSK /R
Hit the enter key.
The chkdsk /r command also includes the P command and will also look for lost recoverable information in bad sectors.
There are occasions depending on how corrupt the system is, that this process could take several hours, so be patient with it.
Now, after chkdsk has run type the following:
FIXBOOT
Hit the enter key.
It may prompt you with a warning, that’s ok, just continue. When fixboot has finished, type: EXIT hit enter and windows will reboot. When the system reboots, tap the F8 key during this time and you will see the multi-boot menu come up. Scroll to the title “Last Know Good Configuration” and hit the enter key. If you were having some simple drive errors this should have fixed them.

Having problems rebooting. I cant get to windows

Make sure you are booting from your hard drive. If there is a cd in the cd drive remove it, sometimes the boot sequence starts with the cd drive.

When you press the power button watch the screen for which key to press to change the boot sequence. Press it and select your hard drive. If it boots, then next time press the key to go into you Bios or System Setup and change the boot sequence to check your hard drive first.

If after booting from your hard drive you are still having problems then you will need a repair disc or system disc to get to a dos command prompt (black screen with white writing) and enter this command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour, but that's ok, let it run. You will also notice the percentage of completion going from high to low, this is normal too. When it finishes reboot.

If Check disk does not fix the problem you will probably need to reinstall your operating system. Try doing a repair install to keep your data, documents, music, pictures, videos and programs.

How do you repair a hp521n error

It depends on what kinda error it has..If it is a boot failure is best to see what is saying on screen and select the correct configuration if it is the case..or reinstall the operation system ..If it does not start to show the devices and just has a black screen the issue is physical ..and you have to see whats wrong ..If it is the cpu ..the fan will start but nothing on screen and no action at all not even a beep ..if it is the ram memory it will beep ..and restart in loop ..or freeze with devices on screen but not intelligible ..Ifg it is a hard disk failure will boot up until loading windows but never show windows screen ..and report a issued hard disk ..(in this case may be the bios settings or a unplugged cable on hard disk )
Also when the video card is to blame it may beep in sequence or long ..and showing nothing on screen ..and in this case try to on board video card if it has one ..but after you remove the other one ..
If it is just a classic case of windows failure..and it tries to load it but in error after ..cause it is missing a file or incorrect boot sequence ..just reinstall the operation system or use the recovery partition or disk to do that ..
Let me know more and I will advice after that in case..!

My Dell Inspiron 6000 won't boot up. It keeps

Hi:
The DST error code 1000-1046 is definitely a failing hard drive. ..I am not sure why your laptop is not recognizing a CD in the drive, but you should go into your BIOS settings, and in boot sequence, make sure that the CD drive is the first boot device. If you can't boot from a CD, you are not going to get very far with installing a new hard drive...

My dell inspiron 1525 has a black screen with a white cursor showing

First, I want to know if you sees the Dell logo after turning on the laptop? If yes then this is no boot issue.
1. Immediately run the PSA. Make sure laptop is off. Press and hold down the Fn key, while holding down Fn key press the power button at the same time just once. Once the Dell screen loaded you can now let go of the Fn key. Check if the PSA will run short test for the LCD, RAM and HDD. When full color displays on the screen just press Y. PSA will continue. Just take note of any error code will appear on the screen such as 0141, 0142 and 0146 these are HDD failure errors which means HDD needs replacement. If the test says no errors found then proceed to step 2;
2. Try restarting the laptop once you see dell logo then keep tapping F8. Select last known good configuration. Press enter key. Just wait and check if laptop will load Windows. If not then, restart laptop keep tapping F8 try to select safe mode check if it will load Windows. If not then prepare the Windows OS disc the one came with your laptop.
3. While laptop is on insert the Windows OS disc. Restart the computer. On the Dell screen keep tapping on F12 to show boot menu. In the boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive. Press enter then keep tapping on space bar until it will say Windows loading files, please wait.
4. In the User Interface it will show you some options to select. Once the Install screen comes up look on the lower part select Repair Your Computer. If will ask you to do Startup Repair, please do start up repair. If fails try the System Restore. If fails then step 5;
5. If you have important files in your HDD then back up your files first. After backing up of files you can now install the Windows OS. Here is the process in installing the Windows OS. Insert the Windows OS disc, restart the laptop, keep tapping F12 on Dell screen, on boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive.Install the Windows OS. Just complete the installation. After the installation install the laptop drivers.

Windows unable to complete format.

How did you format the computer, inside windows or outside?
Try this change the boot sequence from the BIOS instead of booting first to HD make your optical drive as first boot. After changing the boos sequence insert the windows vista disk to the drive then restart the computer. When it boots it will ask you to press any key to boot to CD/DVD. Keep tapping on space bar. If you notice it will say windows copying files. When copying files completed we isolated the problem dvd rom is fine and the vista installer is fine as well.
If the problem only started in or during attempting to format you HDD might causes the problem.

It will not boot it keeps going back to this screen were it has all the booting options and i have tried all of them and it just keeps going back to the same screen

this is normally either a virus or an error in the registry in windows your best bet is to either get a windows disk and run the repair sequence to make it so you can boot the computer up and get what files you need of the computer then reload the operating system or have somebody do it for you.

I cannot install any window on my Toshiba satellite pro

when pc starts hit the F1, F10, F12 or DEL key, which ever one lets you go into the bott sequence menu. Once you're there change the sequence to start your first boot from CDROM. Then save and exit. Restart your pc with the windows start-up disk in it and go from there. When you have completed that process make sure to go back to boot sequence and change it back to it's original settings which will be to boot from Harddisk first.Hopefully the info hepls GOD Bless You.

How to put top down 1998 BMW Convertible

depends on what type of top you have (full power or power assisted).

if power assisted, then release the latches on the inside where the top meets the windshield, then hit the button on the lower dash (its near the button for the heated seats & traction control) and give it a little push with your hand to start it folding. it has a picture of a side window & top on it. pushing it one way lowers the top. you have to be in park (or drive with foot on brake) to lower it. hold the switch down, the side windows will lower a bit and the top will begin to move. keep holding it till the top tucks under the boot and the windows begin to go back up, then release it. if the light on this button is not flashing when you release it, then the top is tucked away properly. if still flashing, then keep it depressed until the top folding sequence is complete.

if a fully automatic top (you will not have latch releases on the top where it meets the windshield), then simply hit the button as described above. no need to push on the top during the beginning sequence. keep holding it until the windows begin to go back up, then release it.

for both, watch the top as it tucks into the boot. sometimes if the top is not properly aligned, the top cloth may not tuck correctly and may require some help from you. the sequence can be stopped any time, but the red light on this button will flash.

to put it back up, simply hit the button in the opposite manner and the sequence will start with the rear boot lifting up first. fully auto tops will lock automatically to the windshield. power assisted tops will require to lock the top. if red light on this button still flashes when released, then the sequence is not complete or has encountered an error.

hope this worked for you.

Error Code

All you can do is Reinstall windows. You should get the Windows Vista Installation CD with your laptop and all you have to do is put it in and restart your computer and when the message that says "Press any key to boot from CD" press a key.

If it doesn't show up, you may have to press a key like DEL or F12 to get the boot sequencer. When you first turn on the computer you should see the Compaq logo. At the bottom of the screen you should see some buttons to press to do things like BIOS and Boot Sequence. You want Boot Sequence. Once in boot sequence, select the CD-DVD and press any key when it says to.

Once in follow instructions or oyu can reply and i will tell you how to install.
