You have a defrost system problem. Defrost is controlled by a timer which energizes the heater circuit. The heater circuit has a radiant or cal rod type heater which melts the frost from the coil. When the coil reaches a temperature where all ice would be gone a termination switch opens and shuts of the heater. The timer will continue to run until defrost time expires (18-22 minutes).

If you can locate the timer there is a clutch head screw to advance the timer to the defrost position. Turn the screw clockwise SLOWLY until you hear one audible click. The heaters should come on and defrost take place. If the unit restarts after the 18-22 minute period the timer is good, if it does not restart advance the screw to a second audible click and it will restart.
If you had to turn the timer the to second click to get it started cooling replace the timer.

If the unit restarted after the 18-22 minutes and defrost did not happen your problem is in the heater circuit. This would be an open heater or bad defrost terminator switch. To access the heater and defrost terminator the back panel in the freezer section must be removed. With an Ohm meter you can check the heater to see if it is good.

SOURCE: frost forms in freezer, blocking vents so temp in both freezer and fridge is warmer than normal

You have an issue with the defrost system, either the timer, thermostat or heating element. Probably the defrost timer refer to the manual to find it. If you don't have the manual check the makers web site for a parts breakdown. You should be able to put it into defrost manually by turning the knob and see if that helps. You may need to do this sevral times as it only stays in defrost for a little over twnety minutes and run cycle for 6,8 or ten hours. If the ice build up is heavy then twenty minutes may not do the trick thus the need for repated defrost cycles. If it does the trick replace the timer. If not check the thermostat and heater element.

The heater for the frost-free isn't functioning. Have a technician check the circuitry on the heater for breaks, or even a defective heater!

SOURCE: Fridge not cool enough but frosty at the back

Since you are getting frost in you frost free refrigerator, tell me that the defrost circuit has a problem. It is made of a defrost timer/module, defrost heater and defrost thermostat. What should happen is that the defrost timer should periodically turn off the compressor for about 30 minutes and turn power to the defrost heater via the thermostat. The heater is attached to the evaporator coil and melts any frost build up on those coils.

It sounds like the defrost circuit has not been working for a while because the ice build up is not allowing the air to circulate around the coils to cool the refrigerator. The typical failures to the defrost circuit are the defrost timer motor fails to advance, or the defrost heater burns out. Hope this helps you.

Samsung SR-42NMB fridge leaking!

This is caused by a blocked defrost drain. The cold air for the fridge is vented from the evaporator behind the freezer. Once every 24 hours the defrost timer, stops the compressor and applies power to a heater at the freezer evaporator coils. The defrosted water drips and runs to a drain normally into a metal tray on the compressor where it evaporates. On my GE fridge freezer there is a hose and a small p-trap at the rear. Easy to remove, soak in bleach and hot water and then flush through. Help for Samsung drains in the link.

Bonjour, j'ai un r?frig?rateur samsung SR-L39 " no frost " qui se met ? biper comme si la porte ?tait ouverte alors qu'elle est ferm?e depuis longtemps et il le fait toutes les minutes... si vous pouviez...

1. Check for obstructions in the door. Ice at the bottom, food in door compartment sticking out too far, etc....
2. Make sure the seal on the door is clean(Mild soapy water)
3. If the fridge was moved and the door was removed and re-installed, make sure it is "sealing" properly.
4. Too high a temp will also keep the alarm going.
Good luck! If none of these, you might have to call service.

For Samsung Refrigerator SR-L629EV my freezer

If there is no cooling at all on the fridge section but the freezer works then it is confirmed that the compressor and gas pressure is OK. Now shut off the fridge and leave it powered off while you clean and check the evaporator for frost. If frost is seen it is a good indication as the compressor is working with sufficient gas within.
Now after about 6 hours plug in the fridge to start. Observe cooling to happen in about one hour and ice to from under three hours.
Earlier make sure that the thermostat was set to normal mode for freezer and fridge.
However if ice forms in the freezer then observe the fridge for about 24 hours for cooling to continue and the fridge to cut off . If not the auto defrost timer, or the thermostat must be checked. Frost formation without defrosting could block the air flow and so shut the air passage to the fridge. Also the blower fan must work and if this is not working then the fan can be faulty. Also a fault on the control unit is a suspect to non functioning of any one of these components.
If defrost timer works but frost keeps forming check while the compressor shuts if the heaters are working, check continuity of the heaters.
So try this test using a multi-meter on the defrost timer and the thermostat and make your observations so that we come to the solution.

Model SR-L39. "no frost" dec

The defrosted water that drains to the drain tank has leaked when the fridge is defrosting,it can be due to some puncture in the drain hose from the freezer ,specially when the temperature is high this can be more . You can set the thermostat a little lower to reduce the frosting , also keep a flat tray under the drain tank so that the excess water can be collected and disposed.
If you can check and see if the drain pipe is damaged.
