Kingston is one of the biggest manufacturers of computer memory cards. They also have a large market share of the flash memoryi cant remove the write protection of my kingston - mag-glass_10x10.gif sector, including USB flash drives, SD cards and micro SD cards. Flash memory cards like the micro SD can be locked in Write Protect mode, which prevents you or someone else from accidentally deleting or copying over important data

  1. tep 1 Look for a switch or button on the side of the micro SD card or adapter. It might have a lock/unlock symbol on it.
  2. Step 2 Move the switch to the "Unlocked" position to remove write protection. This position may also be labeled "R/W" for read/write. If you have no switch, continue to Step 3.
  3. Step 3 Download and install Sony EzRecover (see Resources for link) and attempt to use it to format the card (this will erase all content). If this doesn't work, try Step 4.
  4. Step 4 Delete and repartition the micro SD card using Windows XPi cant remove the write protection of my kingston - mag-glass_10x10.gifimages/mag-glass_10x10.gif" alt="mag-glass_10x10.gif" class="h_mi" />. My usb doesnt have a drive when i look to its properties. i cant open it either... it doesnt show on my computer. what should i do?

your pc & kingston flash driver already affected by virus ,you cannot maintain the folder options because autorun.exe is runnning, you should go to another pc ,where that pc switch off the autorun from >run>gpedit.msc> administrative templates>system>d click on turn off autoplay>ennable >d arrow>select >select all drivers>ok .go tools>folder options>view>check on all hidden files> check off hide extention........ & hide protected ........

Then after use your affected kinkstone flash driver
.Now you can see the many hidden file ,drag it and delete it or format the flash driver but your main pc should format and install the os again.

My kingston usb flash disk undergoing write protected physicaly

its not jumber ,its a looks like a switch..
First try to see is there any lock in your pen drive and see if its not locking it, you will see a switch which locks the pen drive at one side and unlocks it when you slide that switch to other side ,some drives comes with that option to protect it ..but if it is not

Use the Registry Hack to Disable Writing to USB Drives
Here is the link .just download the zip folder and after opening the folder you will find a file just double click on it..

Kingston DTM 2GB

hello roc0380,

it seems that the Kingston 2GB DTM is fully compatible with Microsoft Vista. So I don't think you'll have to upgrade the Migo software on the device. If you connect the device to your Vista machine and there are any malfunctions, try downloading the most current version of the Migo software at http://www.kingston.com/support/USBFLASHDRIVES/downloads/default.asp?s=DT_mini

Hope this was helpful information
Kind regards and thank you for using the FixYa services
