F1 is a flood sensor fault code. The problem sometimes comes from loading the machine above the top of the drawer. When the inside lid comes down before the dishwasher starts, it cannot seal completely and water can spray into the outer cavity. The water accumulates in the inner bottom where there is a sensor. The sensor protects the electronic components from getting wet by warning you of the water which you cannot see. The solution is to remove the bottom drawer and wipe out, then dry the compartment with a fan or a small space heater. Once dry, the machine will function as usual.
Please contact Maytag to inquire about the code F1. They should check the system and that that code is a courtesy repair and should be scheduled for a someone to come out to fix it. FREE It is possible that the F1 code was caused by your laundry habits (detergent), but I think that is unlikely. Too many of these machines have problems with the F1 error code. There is a known problem with the Oasis / Cabrio / Bravos machines.
My boss's washer has the same problem, located the tech manual inside the washer at the front it was saying to check the pressure hose for any kinks if no kinks found and problem continues replace the motor control board.
The F1 error code on the Whirlpool cabrio is quite common, and generally has to do with the control board. Replacing the control panel may resolve this issue. However, I beleive Whirlpool is aware of the F1 issue with the Cabrio, and is fixing some machines for free. Please call 1-800-253-1301 for more details and see if you are eligible for a free repair.
HELLO, Error code F1 indicates a control failure and most likely the machine control board will have to be replaced. Depending on when you purchased the machine, the board may be covered under extended component warranty.
I had the same F1 problem and they had to replace the control board and something relating to the balance. The tech told me this is a common problem.
