In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to check the support software - Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated - I am currently on version 11 To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click 'Start', click 'Run', type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab
Procedure to re-install Logitech software Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software Disconnect your webcam Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer Restart computer Download the Installation package from Logitech Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must. Connect your webcam when prompted. Before going into the programs, reboot the webcam software by unplugging the webcam for a few seconds. Do not start the webcam using the Logitech software but allow the program software to have full control.
Make sure you have the logitech webcam support software loaded - Microsoft DirectX - version 9 or later. If you have been using your webcam in another location it can remain hooked up that application even if you exit it correctly. You will have to re-boot the webcam software by unplugging it for a couple of seconds and then restart the logitech toolbar. Failing this - reinstall the software

1) If you do not intend to use the Logitech chat feature I would recommend you uninstall the current logitech software and re-install it - opting out of the Logitech chat feature when the option appears 2) Make sure you have downloaded the DirectX support software.
Check out the support page for your webcam by browsing the gallery and clicking on the picture of your model.
logitech vid is a software just like yahoo messenger, its not actually the driver for your webcam, it also came together when you buy the logitech webcam, look for the other installer in the cd.
Get the latest software updates from Logitech's website to resolve the issue.
