I know this is an old post but someone else might need to see this solution...
Thanks for the excellent video, I dropped mine into the sea yesterday, I whipped the battery out within a couple of seconds, let it dry. The next day, I opened it up and cleaned it out (mostly just a few grains of sand here and there, put it back together, and it works perfectly! Thank you!
If it happens again, wash it out with bottled water and then spin in around very quickly in a sock to get all the water out.
