Will not play blu-ray disc's

I purchased a BD-P1200 Blu-ray player at the end of the summer of 2007, but didn't buy my first Blu-ray movie (Santa Claus 3) until the end of November. Movie would not continuously play, purchased 2nd movie (Pixar Shortfilms) forget it, nothing at all. Although it plays DVDs just fine. Contacted Samsung, did firmware update and master reset, no luck. The two movies still will not play, contacted Samsung again, went through two different levels of tech support until transferred to the Executive Service Department. I was told I had to pay them $85.00us to send the unit to NJ for god knows how long for repair, for a brand new player. Please help with any suggestions to resolve the issue.

To answer your question for solution #1, Yes the player will play regular DVD's just fine and the Blu Ray discs were purchased from Best Buy.

Yep, I'm having the same problem. Will play regular dvd's just
fine. When a new blu ray disk is put in, I get the can't read
    disk note on the screen.

my discs were also purchased from best buy. One movie just reads now loading on the tv screen and thats it. The second plays all the way thru the previewa and stops after that. thhe third plays just fine but after previews are over no buttons work (pause, stop, eject,)power to player has to be turned off then restated to get the disc out. But all the other blu ray disc work just fine

You can download a free Blu-ray player program on your PC and you can watch BD movies on PC. But first you should have a Blu-ray drive on your computer.

Are you able to play other discs on your player? Did you get your discs from a reputable distributor? and not at a flee market? Could be that your discs aren't giving the proper signals.

I own a BD-P1500 model. For the last two years it has played back every Blu-Ray disc I put in it. Recently I tried to play a Blu-Ray disc put out by Sony.(Movie: SALT) and the disc would only load about...

It could be it needs new firmware.
If you have not updated firmware it would be worth doing this as there have been quite a lot of updates on most players.
Also make sure the disk is perfectly clean.

Unable to program Universal Remote. provided codes do not work.

Problem solved. I decided to use the learning function of my remote to learn the wanted commands of the original remote. The remote I used was a Sony RM-VL610 which could learn the original remotes functions easy and quickly. This is a very good remote for only $30 purchased at Target. The Macro commands were also entered rather easily. I did not try this method originally, because I thought it would be too time consuming and difficult.

Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

I have three blue- ray disc which will not play. Have return these disc several times to merchant for exchnage with no success.

Your firmware seems to be an older version. Since the discs that you are nameing are asking for Blu-Ray 1.2 support.
Samsung has provided updated firmware to support these discs. Follow the instructions on the link.
