On a computer the two most probable causes are:

a) Problem with Adobe flash player

You do there is adobe flash and Silverlight as well as other flash players you may need to run flash programming. I use Google Chrome which has all of that in the installation of its browser download. I would go through and download adobe flash for IE as well as Firefox or whatever browser you may be using to do this.

Do you need to set your home page as Google or do you want to install google chrome or do you need to set your default browser as google chrome?

For setting Home Page
Please goto tools - internet options and under general tab type www.google.com

For installing Google chrome
Just search on google search engine and you can download and install it

For setting google chrome as default browser
For XP - goto add or remove programs and select Set program access and defaults at the left bottom - Then select chrome and click ok and restart
For Vista & Win 7 - Click on Start and type default programs and click on the highlighted search option and do the same steps as like in XP
