Tips sold by Radio Shack, many hardware stores, Active Electronics in Santa Ana CA, and ebay. Cheaper to buy a card with 2 tips, no nuts. You cut the old tip, put in new tip, bend ends of new tip 90 degrees, big deal. #8125W is the best tip Weller makes for this gun, without those nuts. While you're at it, buy some "anti-seize compound" for the threads on those nuts!

Do stained glass soldering tips go bad or stop working. I have a weller soldering iron that doesn't heat up hot enough to solder. is it the tip or the iron

If this is the dual trigger Weller gun and your tips are held in place by either set screws or by locking nuts, Just loosen both of the parts that are holding the tip to the gun and then retighten them back up. Soldering iron tips that appear to be tight might not be and this will insure that the tip is indeed tight and also cleans up the connection of the tip to the soldering iron. Oxidation from heating and cooling will cause a tip to not get very hot. Loosen the tip holder and then retighten it. Hope this gets you going again.

It will not heat up, maybe tip needs to be cleaned, if so how? I lost the manual. Thank you..

I am assuming that you installed a new tip. Note, the tip ends have to be 3/8 of an inch 90 degree bend so that when you insert the tip leads into the barrels, they go into the small holes in the barrels. Also note, the nuts to tighten the tip into the gun have to be installed onto the tip leads before bending the leads. Now when the tip is installed this way, the nuts tighten and hold the tip in the barrel. This tightening of the nuts allow the tip to have a good electrical connection to the barrels and this is what allows the tip to heat. You actually have an electrical current that passes through the barrels and the tip. It is a very low voltage (around 2) but a very high current. Over time the tip will not heat, this is a sign to either tighten the nuts, or look at the tip to see if it has a break in it. If it has an open, then it is time to change the tip.

How do you use an weller wsb25hk change tips?

Hello, just loosen the set screws on the end of the soldering gun barrels. Install new tips and tighten the set screw--sung! If your soldering iron requires that the tips have a 90 degree angle on their ends. You can bend them but be very careful because you can break them end off. The tipes are made of copper with some other alloys and the are kinda brittle. You can do. GB...stewbison

When i put the tips in my gun it just falls out what do i need to do to fix it

There should be two nuts (ldome shaped nuts) on the end of the tubes that have the holes in them where you are installing the tips. They need to be tightened with the wrench that is supplied with the gun. Let me know if this helps. Thanks

Tip screws for model 8200 are worn out, What is the screw size?

The tip screws are a drilled bolt for this unit. There isn't room to tap the barrel holes out further if the threads are bad. You used to be able to buy tips that were pre-loaded with the proper clamp bolts. Good luck!

Intermittent heat on Weller D550 although lights stay on. When not working, moving the terminals may get it to start working again. Sometimes, just moving the gun will interrupt the heat. Continuity...

Heat gun tips often get bad electrical connection where the nuts tighten to the tip ends. Remove the tip, clean the ends, re-install the tip, making sure the nuts TIGHTEN onto the tip ends. Your problem is common and always caused by a poor connection at the tip ends/nuts.
