Mitsubishi WS-55513 screen keeps turning off

Recently the visual and audio on the tv shuts off by itself. The tv is still on when it does this. When I manually shut the tv off, the green light flashes continuously (60 times per minute). It stays on for hours without this problem at times but other times it shuts down immediately after turning the tv on. It also seems to do this more when watching anything in HD or On Demand. What can I do to solve this problem without spending a lot of money?

    Guru,

I had the same problem with my my WS 55513, but now it is dead. The good news is that it is under warranty, the bad news is that Best Buy keeps telling me the parts are on order. I've been waiting for 5 weeks, and it the meantime I have a Super Bowl party scheduled and really need the TV working. I can't believe it takes that long to get capacitors. Aren't they pretty generic? If I knew what part numbers I needed, I could buy them, and Best Buy tech will install them.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Yes, if you are handy, you can leave an e-mail address and I can send you a how to do repair guide with the factory service manual for your TV set and you will save at least 800 to 1000 bucks!
