Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Flow plug

even though the ignitor seems to glow bright orange,it still maybe weak,as in not enough current to open the gas valve,an easy test is to just swap out or interchange the broiler ignitor and bake ignitors and see if this takes care of your issue on the lower bake side as most units use the identical ignitor for each upper and lower manifolds and the gas valve supplies both the bake and broiler manifolds depending on which you choose to use bake or broil

My electric Tappan Custom oven model # 36-3058-00, oven will not ignition but glow plug glows red. How can I troubleshoot? What is wrong. Thanks Dan

Hello,

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake ignitor is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake ignitor(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of ignitor make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake ignitor. I know it seems improbable that if the ignotor comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the ignitor comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak ignitor is the cause 100% of the time
I hope this helps Gene

Kenmore gas oven 362.7163191 wont light, what could be the problem ?

The glow bar ignitor in the oven is going bad. Remove the oven racks. Remove the base pan in the oven. This gives you access to the glow bar.
Turn the gas off to the oven. Place a clamp on amp meter on one wire of the ignitor and turn the oven on to Bake. If the amp draw is 3.2 or less, replace the glow bar ignitor.

How to set the oven timer?

To Program Oven for a Delayed Start Time and to Shut-Off Automatically 1. Be sure that the clock shows the correct time of day. 2. Place the food in the oven. 3. Push "Bake Time". "00:00" and the words "BAKE TIME" will glow in the display window. 4. Push and hold up or down arrows until the desired baking time appears in the display. 5. After the bake time has been set, "----°" will appear in the display and the word "BAKE" will flash. The display will flash and beep once until the oven temperature has been set. 6. Push "Stop time". The time when baking will stop, will appear in the display window. The words "BAKE STOP TIME" will glow in the display. 7. Push and hold up or down arrows until the time that you want cooking to be completed appears in the display. 8. Push Bake (or Conv). Maytag gas oven mgr5770abb Does not light when I try to use oven. Broiler works fine. When I try to turn on the oven, the broiler igniter does not glow. If the bottom igniter was bad, wouldn't the top one...

first I would check to see if you have power (120v) at the bake igniter..when you set in to bake...use a multmeter..(when you turn on the oven to bake only the bottom igniter will come )

good luck be safe

Oven gas does not come on?

It sounds like a bad glow plug.It may also be a bad ignitor box!! I would check the glow plug before i would suspect the ignitor box. It's alot cheaper!!
