I hAVE A HOBART 200T FIRST AND THIRD GEAR WORK FINE BUT SECOND GEAR DOES NOT SEEM TO GRAB WITH ANY TORQUE. WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM?

I would say without looking at it a key is sheared or gear teeth are worn on the gear.usually its a sheared key,however if the mixer is older they use a dive key assembly which you would have to replace the shaft.I'm a hobart tech and repair these mixers often,any ? let me know.What is the ml # on the data plate?

A agree with bigg t / I'm not a mixer spec but a ironrite /maytag spec . they also had mixers in there day . if this is a older machine and only used during the holaday's maybe it sits more than it used. so try cleaning out the gear box/ use a solvent or a cleaner of auto gears. after clean spray gear box with brake cleaner .
Auto zone has it ) clean any yellow off all metal / dry it good and lube with 502 lube in a tube. also when cleaning look for the sheared key.if there. all these tip's will help performace of mixer .. **** / feed back pls ..
