Loud buzzing while other phone is on base. Switching phones on base has no effect on issue. Taking phone off base hitting 'talk' helps with issue, but buzzing returns upon placement on base..

  • Anonymous Nov 14, 2009

Nothing new happened to make the buzzing start. Agree it was some sort of electric interference. I bought new phones and that solved the problem completely.

Did you have "buzzing" Before these phones? Anything electrical fan etc on the same circut breaker of your house?. Or buzzing start recently with these already running. It sounds like your describing "electrical noise" and not really a issue with the phoned them selves. Try relocating the base if you have another open wall jack and on another circut. If you notice it goes away check whats all on that circut (wall outlet) that you unplugged the base from. depending on the noise or lack of at the new location it would probly be something running on there. ..
Hope this gives ya a solid start on a fix :)

Wow, sounds like My fix for ya was on the nose, Kinda dissapointing to see you confirm the same thing, and yet only a Single thumb review. you might want to remember if the information matches what you have found or matches what is told to you there is definatley worth more than one thumb review of the information. Please considder this information when you review information provided. We take pride in helping people and when what we describe is on the nose its disheartening to see a single thumb and what feels like a snub yet great info.

Buzzing in both phones

hi,

im working on your problem,

the batteries are not the problem for sure,

have you thought of this loud buzzer being just a reminder of some function of your phone?

such as message, missed phonecalls, maybe an alert (if phone features this function)

im working on you!
good luck

My wireless phone is about seven years old. There is a loud static sound in the dial tone and a loud buzzing sound when I am talking, which can also be heard by the person I am talking to. I just put new...

Try disconnecting the cordless phone base unit from the phone jack where it's connected and plug in a basic corded phone. If you still have the noise, the trouble is in the phone line itself and you'll need to contact your telephone service provider.

If the phone line isn't at fault, the trouble is in the base unit. Most likely, the power supply filtering isn't working, and you're hearing hum in the audio as a result. If the base unit uses an external plug-in adapter (a "wall-wart") with a DC output, you can try replacing it with a new one. Radio Shack sells replacements. Just be sure to get one with the same voltage rating, the same or higher current rating, and the right polarity plug. It may be that the old adapter isn't filtering any more because of its age.

If the adapter is an AC output type, or the base has a built-in power supply with a regular AC power cord, you should probably shop for a new phone. The trouble is in the unit itself, and you'll spend more trying to have it fixed than it's worth.

There is a very loud buzzing on the phone when talking. Does this mean the battery needs replacing?

Because the cordless phones use radio frequencies to receive / transmit what you say and hear, it also picks up other radio interference. I sujest you move the hand set or base station away from other mains operated equipment as this will interfer with your phones.

Loud buzz in one phone when other is in Mother charging base.

I Had the same problem.
I found out what it was. The buzzing sound came from the AC/DC charger. I changed it and everything is working fine now !
Try with a AC/CD adaptater putting it on the right voltage and check if it's working without this buzzing sound.
Have a good day !

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone

I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

Buzzing noise while making a call

This happens at many phones due to the speaker which buzzes because of the waves made by the conversation. For example try calling someone and be near a desktop pc speaker or radio and you'll hear the same buzzing noise
