Mine does the same. Press eject and give the front of the draw a sharp tap.. the draw should then open.
Also when loading a disk give the draw a hard shove closed just as it is almost shut - seems to make the disk read ok.
I think both problems are related to a worn / slack tray drive belt... I just haven't been able to find a replacement.

Hi, I have a NAD C541i cd player when i turn it on i get three blue line on the display, i open the draw and insert a CD disc but the blue lines stay on the display and the disc don't play. can you...

The blue lines you mention should flash when trying to find
the 'Table of Contents' of your CD, even if a CD isn't loaded.
If when a CD is loaded and these lines flash for a while without
any CD info e.g track no. / disc length then it's more likely that a problem has occurred with the laser.
Various NAD CD players use the Sony KSS-213 Laser unit
and for some reason particularly with NAD CD players, they tend
to drift out of calibration over time so what i usually do when i come across this is very finely adjust the pot trim on the laser itself and testing a CD between adjustments.

My NAD cd player CD slot goes in and then opens...it does not retain the CD inside to play...

Hello
This fault is due to loose tray loading belt or weak loading motor. You just change the loading belt with same type. Never use a belt more than tight. Use the same size. If belt changing does not help, replace the loading motor. OK.

My NAD C 541 cd player will not play any discs. I open it put the disc in and it tries to scan and then rejects the disc and opens on its' own. There is the word 'over' in red below the track number...

It could be the belt for the tray mechanism. Tray closes then motor is pushed up to CD. If belt slips or physical mechanism is sticky CD will not spin and tray will reopen.

My Sony cd player spins but won't play. Cleaned

Those CD cleaners rarely work. They are nothing but small brushes on a plastic CD. Unless the problem is loose dust, they won't work. Try carefully opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, post the model number and I'll provide the replacement optics part number and cost. Some units have replacement optics that cost less than $15. Dan

Nad cd player cd541i noise

Hi...
That one is going to need Tech service.

I've worked on several of the NAD players.

Sounds like a focus or gain adjust needed.

NAD C541i CD Player plays but the sound cuts out for an instant every 10-20 secs. It eventually goes away, but it is annoying when you first play a disc. Any help appreciated.

hi, i've had a few nad C541i's and not so long since the sound on one of them cut out for milliseconds and on some occasions the sound would make the noise very much like a severely scratched vinyl record, i thought it was a faulty laser so i tried another KSS-213C laser out of a scrap kenwood and the fault persisted. to cut a long story short, i took the main PCB out and there were various dry joints. once these were resoldered i was blessed with a fully functioning player. hope this helps?
