When i updated my PS3 for the new Call of Duty it stopped reading the disks. It worked fine b4 the upload but now it wont play any of d games i have. Whats d craic, how do i sort this

My ps3 has been doin all weird stuff since i brought MW2 now i cant download the 3.10 system update keeps coming up with error..even wen i tried with a flash drive..driving me nuts..any help would be greatful

The same thing happened to me with PS3 40GB. There are rumors floating in the Internet that firmware update 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 are bricking the Bluray drive. I don't know if that's true or just a coincidence. Either way I bought a replacement laser assembly in eBay and replaced it. It works like a charm now.

Im having the same problem. been on hold to sony customer services for over an hour now. itll play bd movies, dvds and cd's but it wont play any ps3 games

My ps3 has crashed also. will still read the game after a format and backing up the data. But it wont allow me to any further than the start of training before it crahses. i took the game back and got another game just for a troubleshooting experiment and it still happens.

This exact same thing happened to me. Just bought the new cod, updated, now during gameplay it will freeze, then i have to restart the console. When i restart it it does not detect any disks? Can't be coincidence. Can anyone help please??

I have exactly the same problem. Been working fine since I bought it, did the modern warfare 2 upgrade tonight. Suddenly my disks won't read.

Same thing happend here updated it and then nothin. it will play blu ray, and dvd but not ps3 games.anyone

It might just be coincidence that your blu-ray drive has packed up at the same time as the update. Ring up Sony and tell them this and you could get a new console for free if your in the warranty.
