I'm a truck driver & I was told I could install the galaxy 94HP to the truck posts inside instead of connecting the cb wires directly to truck battery..is this true?
The Binding Posts as they are actually known are for hooking up Radios and such and have been a common feature of most truck manufactures for well over 20 years they are for convenience and to help keep down on wiring problems due to folks making poor connections to the trucks wiring harness and Yes they are sufficient to run that radio as most will support up to 500 watt amps.
I'm not sure what "truck posts" are, as I don't drive a semi, but do know quite a bit about CB Radios, etc.
+ Are these truck posts 12-Volt? If not, then no.
+ Are they capable of VERY high current (amps) draw? The HP version will be drawing an incredibly high amount of power (25-amps) at maximum watt output.
+ I'd recommend running to the battery, as this would not only be the safest method, but would also provide for the quietest (i.e. less interference) operation.
