Depending on the device, if you still can connect to it using your browser (LAN not wireless), login into the router and in settings go to factory reset. If not, there usually is a small opening on the unit that your can insert a pencil/pen tip to push and do a factory reset that will eliminate your password issue.
If you have not tried a reboot, do that first before doing a factory reset.
