Television turns itself off after being on for about 10 minutes
My 9 year old Mitsubishi (vs-60705) Television turns itself off after being on for about 10 minutes. It will not turn on until I unplug it for about 30 minutes. Can this be fixed?

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.
Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.
Unfortunately you will need an experienced TV tech. This unit will need 2 ICs STK392-110 for 1 has shorted and caused damage to the 2nd as a result blowing 1 or 2 pico fuses in the power supply. It is an involved job and may be somewhat costly depending on the pricing in your area. Hope this helps

My Mitsubishi Model VS-60705 did the same thing a couple of years ago...A TV repair facility replaced the Video card. Any repair facility that works on rear-projection TV's should be able to repair your set. I bought the set on Jan 1, 2000. Coming up on 9 years and the set works like new.

thanks for your detailed description of what happened.
replacing the vertical output i.c will correct the problem.
the reason it failed was bad connections on it.
CHECK C2C52 10 UFD @ 50 V OFF THE BASE OF Q2C51 ON THE SIGNAL PCB. 2. CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 (9-VOLT REGULATOR) ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
This sounds like one of the 9 volt regulators on the small signal board is going bad, supplying less than 8 volts. I have seen this is several of those sets. The IC needs to be replaced and if you do not have experience in servicing projection TV's then I suggest letting a qualified tech handle it for you.
There are two integrated circuits called convergence amplifiers , they need to be replaced. this is a common failure on this model. the cost to replace with parts is around 250.00 dls depending on the tech. if you need more help let know
thanks
