My keypad is not working correctly. Some keys work, others don't. can't get to my menu, and the phone randomly calls my voicemail.

Got to the keypad
Menu key - Call settings - Call forwarding -
in that menu screen you can set all of them as "disabled"

Has this always happened?
Does it happen every single time? are you in cellular coverage, or does it happen only when you are in certain areas?
Have you got your call diverts set up correctly?

1. Find "Keypad"

• Tap Phone.
• Tap Keypad.

2. Choose option

• Choose one of the following options:
  • Divert all calls, go to 2a.
  • Divert missed calls, go to 2b.
  • Divert if unavailable, go to 2c.
  • Divert if busy, go to 2d.

2a - Divert all calls

• Key in **21*+61411000321#
• Tap Call.

2b - Divert missed calls

• To select how long you want your mobile phone to ring before the call is diverted:
  • Key in **61*+61411000321**the required number of seconds#
• Eg.:
• Tap Call.

2c - Divert if unavailable

• Key in**62*+61411000321#
• Tap Call.

2d - Divert if busy

• Key in**67*+61411000321#
• Tap Call.

3. Return to the home screen

• Tap the Home key to return to the home screen.

I am not familiar with this phone but some phones you have to select an option to enable DTMF. When you are in a voicemail call, try selecting options or menu and see if there is an option to enable DTMF.

Dual Tone Multi Frequency is the sound the keys make when you select them and this is what is not being sent by your phone and your voicemail needs these sounds to know what key you are pressing.

My recently purchased LG600G (Target $30) immediately started receiving unwanted calls that forced me to figure out voicemail. Well, when I say "immediate", I mean once I struggled through the activation process! Turns out I wasn't pressing, and holding, one of the keys. The first of many firmware issues, read on.

Ironically, the phone is not by default setup to use the keypad for entering responses and I needed to enable DTMF tones. 9 Settings, 5 Call, 7 Send DTMF Tones. (btw, p.62 of the manual lists menu options 9.5.8 which is wrong). Select 1 then set.

I was then able to check my voicemail but my phone still doesn't actually let me hear the DTMF tones. I also have to hold the keys down longer than other phones; it doesn't like flying fingers.

Usually I check voicemail using a land line (or my wife's free work cell!). My local number is not my area code. For AT&T the requested mailbox is the cell number, followed by the 4-digit passcode.

Plain and simple there is something wrong with the LCD on your phone, needs to be repaired if possible

have you set your voicemail yet? you need to set your voicemail in order for it to work.

Motorola L6 Keypad Layout

1. From the stand by screen, press the Menu key.
   
   
2. Scroll to and select Messages.
   
   
3. Scroll to "Voicemail" and press the Menu key.
   
   
4. Scroll to and select Voicemail setup.
   
   
5. Select Voicemail No.
   
   
6. View or edit the Mailbox Retrieval number, then select OK.
   Note: If the Voice Mail Retrieval number is unknown, contact Customer Care for the users local number or to have programming sent to the device.
   

there is a flex cable with all keys on it.you have to change it.this is offen problem with this model.it cost aroud $20

If sounds like DTMF is turned off on your phone. If it is then it is not sending the correct tone over the air which is why nothing happens. Go into setting, then to initial setup and key down toward the bottom and you should see DTMF if it is off change it to short or long and that should correct you problem.
