Thomson 28WR25UG Hello,i turn on my TV and it's on stand by(red light)and when i press a channel up or down i can hear i high pitched buzz but the TV seems to remain in stand by.Is there anything i can do before i take i to a TV repair shop. Thanks Andy

Sounds like your power supply is causing the problem. Unplug the TV wait 10 minutes, look in the back for a red button (circuit breaker) push it in. If this does not work you have a low voltage power supply fault.

Buy one PHILIPS UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL - MODEL NUMBER SRU 5130/86. Thomson TV is listed in its codes. The code is [2972]. You will get its manual also with it, which contains nearly 100 pages, and all adjustments are well explained it it. OK.

when i turn on my tv the light turns orange green for a few seconds.

Its small board with few connectors and easy to replace.
You can buy required part from Part Store. You may see image of ballast supply there.

I am about to post a in depth guide about how to fix this problem. It's because a capacitor inside the TV has blown which causes the buzzing high pitched noise. It's really easy to fix however and only costs about £1 / $2 to sort out.
