Brother 7220 black streaks

Clean the roller and the inside of the machine, asny residue on the roller will cause these black streaks. If cleaning doesn't cure the problem you will need to replace it.

I have black streaks on my 1600n prints. I have tried cleaning the drum, however the streaks still exist.

Dirty print out is basically due to cartridge related issues. Take out the cartridge and clean its drum/ (green roller) with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. The drum is usually located under a cover. Checkout for any spilled toner inside the printer and clean it also. Print a few pages so that the parts get further cleaned. I think, this would solve the issue.

Moreover, black streaks (thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located behind the green drum inside the cartridge. Cartridge or get the PCR Roller changed by a professional.

Let me know if any further clarification is required.
GoodLuck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

When I print a photo there is streaking on the photo paper. How do I clean the printer which is what I think is the problem? Thank you for your time.

Hi,
Remove the cartridge outside look for the place where ink is dispensed If you find any dust on clean with a tissue paper and replace it.  If you don't find any dust on it clean the roller.  Then take a test print.

Vertical Stripes on printed Page, Shaken Toner, Relatively new Belt (Green thing), cleaned the fuzer wire, cleaned the cleaner roller, has oil.

Depending on the type and model of your printer this could be several things mostly related to the cartridge or drum if you have a separate toner/drum system.. Since you have stated you have shaken the toner, I am assuming you have a laser printer. New belt, has me confused. Green thing leads me to think you are talking about the drum. If so, did you purchase a new toner cartridge or new drum cartridge?

Several components inside the toner or drum cartridge will cause vertical streaks. It depends on where these streaks are occurring and how wide the streaks are. We call these repetitive defects and they can be measured to determine which part is at fault.

Also, if this is a multi-unit machine (print/copy/fax/scan) Check the platen glass or ADf feed unit for white out. That has been a major culprit of vertical streaks on the page.

More specifics about the model of machine and cartridges being used would be helpful in trying to solve this problem for you.

2 IN. GRAY AREA DOWN SIDE PAPER

There are several things that can cause this. A worn toner cartridge and/or transfer roller can cause vertical smears, but it may also be a worn fuser assembly. The teflon coating on the fixing (heat) roller wears off, and leaves vertical streaks of varying widths on the pages. Sometimes you may see "ghost" images on the pages for the same reason. Open the back door of the printer, and hold down the exit guide on the fuser (carefull, it may be very hot). There are two long rollers, the lower one is black, the upper roller is either grey or shiny brown. That's the teflon coating. See if it's peeled or damaged. If so, replace the fuser assembly.
