I DON'T HAVE THE DISK TO HOOK IT UP. SO HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK?

I don't know what Make, Model printer you have but look at the website of the printer manufacturer.

Need more info. Is it a USB connected external drive? Is it a newer laptop(windows 7). If both of these are yes, just plug the external drive into your laptop and windows should detect it and allow you to format for use if necissary. Also, if you purchased it, it may have come with a disk. If this is the case, don't hook anything up, put the disk in, and follow the insturctions. Hope this helped.

Plug the cable from the phone to computer. You should get a pop up on the phone asking what you want to do. Select "Disk Drive" If you don't get a pop up go to

• Settings
• Connect to PC
• Either set the default option to disk drive
• and/or check the box "Ask Me"

According to the following link...looks like you would have to find/get a Docking Bay to hook up an External CD/DVD ROM in order to have a better chance of putting a operating system back on it.

Don't restore the system to a hard disk of different size. You may fix the old disk again and use it while using the new (probably larger) disk as an external disk (by fixing a driver bay).
If you want to use the new disk you will have to install the operating system and software from scratch.

Since you don't have a CD, you'll have to hook up an external one to use the install disks. Alternatively, if you are networked, you can share the CD drive on another computer on your network and install from there. From the Asus you would open the network connection, go to the CD you just shared, and click on the Works setup.

if it came with a driver disk or an install disk then try running that before hooking up your harddrive

You most likely need to delete the partition on your external hard drive, then create a new one and format it again. You will lose the data on your external hard drive.
1. Go to the Control Panel, click on Administrative Tools, click on Computer Management, then Disk Management. (You will need Administrators rights to carry out the following tasks)
2. On the lower Right Panel select the External drive, this will be displayed as Disk 1, Right click on this drive (MAKE SURE YOU DON"T SELECT THE C: DRIVE which will be displayed as Disk 0)
and then Delete the partition.
3. This drive should then be Unallocated, Right Click on this drive and create a New Partition.
4. Then select Primary partition.
5. Check that the maxium disk size matches close to 240000(MB) you about 10+MB in the formating process
6. Click Assign the following drive letter (let the computer select this.
7. Chick Format the partition with the following settings
File System = NTFS
Allocatin unir size = Default
Volume label = "name of your choice eg. BACHUP DATA"
DON'T TICK Perform a quick format & Enable file & folder compression
8. Click Finish
