The hard disk is stuck and would refuse to be pulled out!!

the shutter assembly might be stuck or broken, just give it some hard knocking not to break but just unfreeze the shutter leaf

Hi,it is possible that the resultant cause the problem is your hard drive(caused by the hard disk failing to be READ from or be WRITTEN to,in this case be READ from),or one of your Memory modules is failing,so first of all try swapping or switching the RAM modules from one slot to the next,one at a time,if system is still slow,take out your hard disk,get a converter,slave hard disk to another system copy your files out and get a new Hard disk.

try with Disk Manager so Format with Low Level Format...run in under DOS

Straighten out a stout paper clip and insert it into the very small hole on the front face of the drive. Press it in firmly and this will unlock the tray for you. Gently pull the tray out and remove the disk. Reboot the computer and test the drive.

Be persistant-shake the F&^% out of it. Face it with the disk slot facing down and just shake it a few times. Worked for me.

Hi , Because the 1st boot option should be Hard Disk in the BIOS save and exit and then boot

Run DISKMANAGER programme and fix your harddisk bad partition after that install windows xp

The o-ring(s) is expanded or stuck. Try spraying silicone lub (found it at most discount ro hardware stores)  Keep twisting it back and forth as you raise it up . Yes. You may have to force it up which will tear the old o-rings that you are going to replace anyway.   

We had the same problem! I was bending a 18" pry bar and couldn't move it! Finally I tapped the spindle LIGHTLY and it broke loose and have had no more problems. I even bought $80 worth of replacement parts and did'nt use them. The serivce center sold me the parts but the Tech refused to talk me thru installing them.
