Non HD channels picture appears zoomed so that it's too big for the screen. HD channels OK. Pic size settings change shape and format, but still don't get all of picture onto screen.

Same exact problem. Image on TV is cut off on the top or bottom (or both) of the screen, looks like it's zoomed in. Tried to reset to factory settings but nothing works.

This is like the conversion Ic's that is for projection tv's, but different for an lcd or plasma tv , it will need to go to the shop where they can order the board to correct this problem. these boards are not available to the public. you can try to replace any components on the video processing board that are bad , like electrolitic caps , surface mount resistors , diodes , but if it is a surface mount chip then you will need the whole board , because thats the only way to get it

When watching a non-hd channel, try changing the input to ant/cable. this will shift the picture to the full screen. you'll just need to adjust the pic size to fit the new screen. you will need to switch back to hdmi when watching hd channel. this may seem like a lot of work, but it's the only solution i've found.

I just purchased a Samsung UN46C6300 LED TV. The picture is cut off on top and bottom no matter which picture option is selected. Is there something I can do to fix this?

I had the same problem for a few days with my samsung tv which is the main reason why I am posting this solution though I am sure you, dvought, have found a solution by now. Hopefully. for all you other folks out there who have just made a desperate search on the internet like myself to solve this problem and have a cable box/satellite connect, please check your picture size settings for the cable box and change it from zoom back to normal. once i did this i was able to see all the writing and sports scores that were previously not showing before because they were cut off.

Picture won't change sizes

If you are using a cable box, the settings you want are in the setting menu under "format" or "display" . Typically the choices are Normal or stretch, Select stretch.
The "small picture is how the old NTSC format displays in "normal mode" on a High definition set.
While you are in the settings menu, you might want to verify that the box is set to output at least 720P if not 1080i.

Picture cut off Screen on Tube TV

Is the extra width problem something new or has the condition always been there? If it is something new, probably the power supply regulator has failed causing overvoltage to the tv.

First, have you made any adjustments to the tv other than from the setup menu? If not I have the service manuals for the tv in pdf files and would be glad to send them to you. Let me know I have the same tv and corrected the same problem. v/r, Scott
