See if you can enter SAFE MODE. After turning on the power watch the screen and when you first see Starting Windows press the F8 key several times until you see a menu, select Save Mode. If the computer boots to save mode, it's probably just a driver problem.

Window7 free

Microsoft Windows 7 Release Candidate RC is available as a free download, here's how to get it.

You don't have to be a beta tester to download Windows 7 RC. I've included a direct link below along with some tips that you should know about after downloading the OS. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/download.aspx http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15
Want the full version for free? Be sure to check out my other article below explaining how to get the final release of the operating system for free.
b> Remember that this is "Pre release" software meaning that you are essentially testing the software for Microsoft since your version will send data back to MS. Release candidates are usually stable and but you should back up your PC just in case. Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010 There is no technical support, so you'll be relying on online forums. Minimum PC requirements are;

1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)

DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver. A link to the Windows 7 Upgrade Adviser is listed below. According to Microsoft this will "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor scans your PC's system, programs and devices to check if it's able to run Windows 7. After a few minutes, the report will let you know if your PC meets the system requirements, if there are any known compatibility issues with your programs and devices, and will also provide guidance on your upgrade options to Windows 7."
Also free upgrade
Go online to the Microsoft download center (see Below). http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en Locate the text box labeled "Top Downloads For." Select the drop-down list beside it and select "System Tools." Click on the "Go" button. The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will be available as one of the entries in the result. Click the link for the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. You'll get a page where you can download the advisor. Press the "Download" button. You will be prompted to save or open the file. Select "Save" and specify a folder where the installer can be placed. The download should commence. Wait for the download to complete. Open a file browser window to make sure the file is available. Now your advisor is ready to be installed. Install and run the advisor by double-clicking on its desktop icon. If your computer meets the requirements, on screen instructions will direct you on how to download the new operating system for free (after Oct. 22, 2009). Simply submit your requested information and await your upgrade confirmation.

Acer aspire one aoa150-1283 up grade Win XP to windows 7

Win 7 will use more resources and make it slower. It is a nice netbook, but still a netbook. Plus you need to consider drivers for, LAN, sound, and video.

Try testing with Win 7 advisor,

AFTER INSTALLATION THERE'S NO SOUND in windows seven

Did you run the windows 7 upgrade advisor before upgrading to win 7?
I am asking you this because in most of the cases when the drivers are not available in win 7 then that wizard helps you knowing it. You might have to reinstall the drivers once again because the drivers are not installed automatically in win 7 installation, they need to be installed explicitly.

I can't install any kind of os aside from windows xp,what is the problem?my laptop is a centrino model... pls.help me,tnx...

I'm assuming that you are upgrading XP to Win 7 just a guess. You have to download the upgrade advisor from Microsoft first it will set the upgrade in motion. Click Here to get the upgrade download. If you have computer experience with computer upgrading there are other ways to go about it however you will have to completely wipe the drive and set the disc in the drive and make sure it boots to DVD or CD ROM as the first boot. So if you are not good at this go with the advisor purchase a legal copy of Win 7 so that you have a legal serial.
Then you may have to hunt for a driver or two. Win 7 is usually great with upgrading drivers during the install make sure that you are online doing the upgrade. I hope this assists you. If you have the original disc for the lap top it has all of the drivers and software that came with your purchase. If you have issues with drivers just use the drivers discs that came with your computer to re-install them. Great question!

Running Windows 7. A windows Critical Update auto installed on Thursday and system ran fine for several hours. Then it hung and I had to re-boot. It would not reboot, not even into Safe Mode. It would...

it more than likely has little to do with the operating system. It sounds like a hard drive problem. Are you able to format the harddrive and reinstall?

At conclusion of Installing Windows 7, computer reboots, and hangs on the Starting Windows screen. MSI MoBo, MS-7250 (V 1.4). The system passed the upgrade advisor.

Hi,
It sounds like the install was a bad or that your hard drive has bad sectors on it so the operating system cannot read the boot information properly.

Try booting the machine up in safe mode. To do this restart the machine and just after the post/splash screen repeatedly tap F8 until it gives you a sub menu. Select safe mode and let the operating system boot up.

Once in the OS click on the orb/start menu and type in the search bar cmd.

A command window will pop up. In that window type chkdsk /r (leave a space between the k and the /) the computer will tell you that it cannot perform a disk check because of files that are in use so you will have to schedule a disk check when you restart the computer, select yes to this and restart the computer.
It should boot normally and perform a disk check on the hard drive.

Please post back if you require anymore help.

Regards.

You can try also to do reformat your hard drive as fresh unallocated one before doing formatting again to install windows. And check your installation disk for scratches.
