As far as the remote wire a keyed power wire from under dash can be used its the same thing.if the remote wire is working it wont turn on your amp so are you sure thats not why your rcas dont work or have u hooked power to the remote on the amp.

I have a kenwood eXcelon KDC-X759 and after i hooked it up it just kept flashing code off, and it will take a cd but no sound and the radio works fine

does the cd seem to be working other than no sound? if so, are you running the audio through an amplifier? if you are using an amplifier, you may be using the antenna remote wire (blue) instead of the amp remote wire (blue/white stripe) to turn the amp on. when using the antenna remote wire it turns off when going to cd mode.

Wired remote not working

Is kenwood deck known for this? I had the same problem with my kenwood, The only right way to fix this is try to get a new harness and see if it was the wire that was the problem, if this don't fix this, take it or contact your local kenwood dealer.. But if you want to be slamming now, this is what you can do. Have a power wire (with a toggle switch would be best) hooked up to the remote wire input on the amp, BUT if you don't unplug it the amp will have constent power, meaning your amp will stay on all the time. I just do this when i try trouble shooting, when my amp won't kick on, just to see if it comes on. Thats how i found out my remote wire on my kenwood was bad. Hope this was helpfull

What is the dark blue wire comming from my kenwood kdc-516s deck?

It is probably the remote amp wire or power antenna wire. you can check by hooking up a volt meter set on 12 volts DC and see if there is power when you turn on the unit

Amp promblems

When hooking up an amp a remote wire has to be ran. It is possible to jump the remote from the power wire, but if you do this the amp will not shut off unless you disconnect it. If this is done on your amp your battery will continue to die. Also, most cd players have a remote connection. Check to see where your amp remote is running to.

Problems with kenwood kdc-mp2028

The remote from the amp should be connected to the remote (blue wire) or power antena wire from the radio.

Kenwood kdc-x592 No sound on CD and..

your amp turn on is hooked to the power antenna wire. Swap the blue wires and youll be good to go. Since the power antenna is not needed, when the radio goes off tuner, the 12V signal is turned off. and your amplifier will also then lose its remote turn on.
Reverse the 2 blue wires.

What the heck

all the kenwood units have a remote wire and its either blue or blue with a white trace, if you want to test it use a multimeter and not a test lamp as the current output is miliamps and you may damage the unit
