My remote worked fine, but suddenly won't work at all. TV is older Sony Wega 24" Trinitron (KV-24FS100). The satellite remote will change the channels, cause it's using the box, but it won't control volume, mute or on/off either. I've changed batteries, unplugged the TV for awhile and turned back on, but still nothing happens.

Repairing a TV set is actually a skilled work. If you're not sound in electronics, make sure, that you can't do it; especially to Sony sets. If the set switches ON; with audio output OK, and there is no Video, surely the fault should be with its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check that circuit for fault. Press the "DISPLAY" button on the remote control. This will cycle through the display choices and then turn it off.

the volume up(+) of your tv is stock.remote control will not work if there is a button's working, so change the vol + button switch.

your tv had a problem.if you have a knowledge in electronics, check or replace the horizontal transistor beside the plyback. it is a black square parts with 3 pins.
