I have a 52in Toshiba flat screen that I want to take the base of of so that I can mount it on the wall. The model number is 42XV540U.....I have removed all the screws from the bottom of the base of the stand but it still won't detach...can anyone help me out?

The wall mount attaches to the top 1/3 portion of the TVs rear panel. The bottom of the back of the TV should not interfere with your wall mount if it's the correct size. Full instructions are listed starting at page 39 of the manual.

Universal TV Stand Base Wall Mount for 32 60 Flat Screen Televisions

There are a number of options for stands. Do a web search " flat screen base stands" and there will be a number of sites/ products listed. Amazon is one site that has the stands.

Make sure you check the owner's manual. You can probably get a free download if you lost yours.
Some TVs have screws on the backside near the bottom, not just underneath.

About the only hope here is Philips or even EBAY.

Electronics stores don't sell bases for TVs.

Each TV comes with one base, each base comes with a TV. The only way to get a replacement base would be to contact Toshiba and ask them directly for a replacement. For this to work, you'd need the model number of the tv. This can generally be found when you look at the back of the TV, it will have the label on a small sticker somewhere on the back.

Once you have the model number, try doing a quick search on Ebay. Someone may have an old base there that they no longer need, otherwise you're stuck with a wall mount or with contacting Toshiba.

Place the TV on a flat bed preferably your mattress and look for the base mountings. The lock and base mount can be slid off and you can use a good wall mount that will support the weight to be fitted.

First you should lay the unit face down on a blanket or the like, being careful NOT to damage the screen. I don't have one in front of me right now but if memory serves well, there is a plastic cover on the back side of the base that you can pop off giving you access to the base mounting screws. Remove the 4 screws and viola, the base should slide off.

ya we put four screws in the base of the stand you have to lay t.v. on a flat surface protect the screen from getting damaged by putting a blanket over it when u flip it over or lay it flat on the bed you will see the 4 screws that hold the base to the t.v., but if it's a model that's having trouble just leave the base on as you will probably be returning it the store where you bought it lol
