SOURCE: Dimage Z3 System error
plug it in, right click on it in my computer and select format, tick the quick format box and start it up! this will sort it out, i believe the problem is caused by incorrectly disconnecting the camera from a pc/laptop, so when you next disconnect make sure you safely remove it (right click in my computer, select safely remove)

Did you delete them on the computer or the camera? If they are safely on your computer, you can erase and optimize the card for the camera by going into the menu and finding "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi , just solved, I think the very same problem that you have with your Z3. I got the some of the solution on a similar web site. Here's what worked for me. I connected my Z3 to my PC in the normal way. When I turned it on it stayed on and did not immediately cut off. I was able to see all the photo's on the 1gig card. Some were corrupted and there was a lot of duplication. I was able to download all the photo's onto the PC. Once I was sure they were there I was now able to format the card by using the PC. This seems to have solved the problem for me.
I think that I may have caused the problem by trying to download photos when I may have had to much vino to drink!!!!!!! I ended up duplicating photo's instead of downloading them and trying to stop this in mid-stream may have caused the camera to ingest a gremlin. Also the battery ran low when trying to download and cut the camera off. Hope that this works for you.
