Send to read/writer a plus hoop design it only reads the p1 file

When I save a design made on my plus hoop in the 4D embroidery expert software, it saves the p1, p2, p3 files. However when I send the file to the reader writer it only has the p1 file which repeats over and over. Help!

After I stitch out the p1, I have to go back and load the p2 design and continue stitching after I adjust the hoop to the p2 setting. Then I do the same thing with the p3. It is a pain to go back and forth, but it works!

I am in need of english instructions for using the Pfaff Grand Dream Hoop English Instructions for using Grand Dream Hoop

I haven't found any real instructions for using the grand dream hoop. Pfaff has some tricks for using the hoop in their blog about the large, turnable hoop here: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Inspiration/PFAFF-Blog/February-2015/The-Grand-Dream-Hoop . There is a document for using the Pfaff 5D embroidery software to prepare an embroidery design for the Creative Grand Dream Hoop: http://www.donssewing.com/images/Pfaff_Creative_Grand_Dream_Hoop.pdf . Most of these directions will apply to the 4D and 6D programs.

I hope this helps. Beyond that, I suspect setting up the hoop in the embroidery unit is the same for all Pfaff hoops.

Can I use 4D software on a brother machine

You can read and write the embroidery design to the Brother .PES file format with the 4D Embroidery software. Check with your Brother sewing machine manual to determine how to transfer the file between the computer and the sewing machine. This information comes from http://softwaresupport.svpworldwide.com/sd/AddSolution.sd?solID=401 . I have used the 5D embroidery software and it also supports the Brother machine format.

I hope this helps.

Embroidery

When you are editing the design make sure you are actually doing it in the hoop size that you want. It may be that the design has been done in a larger hoop although it does not really require it. I can change the hoop size on my machine. Good Luck!

Transferring DVD designs to USB stick for my Husqvarna Designer 1

First you need your 4D software installed on your computer (or which ever version you are using). Insert the DVD into your drive. Then open your embroidery program and then click File and Open. When the new window opens, search for your DVD drive then find the embroidery you want and click Open. The embroidery yoiu chose should open in your embroidery program with the hoop displayed on the screen. Then save the embroidery under a new name in your embroidery design folder on your computer. Then insert your USB into your computer, Open Disk Manager and Read your USB. Then click on one of the empty squares and then click File then Open. In the new window find the embroidery file you saved under a new name on your computer and choose it. It should show up in the empty square you clicked on. Then Write to your USB. Now you are ready to move your USB to your machine and the embroidery should be there. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My D1 still runs designs from a floppy. I have the 4D software. What computer extension do I need to save my designs to, in order for the sewing machine to be able to stitch them. So far I'm having no luck...

Your Designer 1 will read none of the file formats you listed. It uses .shv which is a special file type created just for the Designer 1. Some embroidery sellers offer this format, but most do not. You don't need the .shv if you have the 4D software. When you purchase designs, you can buy almost any format you want and your software will deal with it. Most Husqvarna Designer owners purchase designs in .vp3 or .pes format. Avoid .art designs.

You need to set up your software using the Configure module. You can access this either by locating your 4D software folder on your hard drive - in that folder there should be an .exe called Configure - or use a link in your normal 4D screen once you open the program. Look for the icon along the top that looks like a screwdriver and pliers (or something like that). In Configure use the Send 1 tab to tell your software that you have a floppy disk Designer 1.

When you want to load designs for your sewing machine, open 4D Disk Manager (it will be in the drop-down Accessories box using the arrow beside the Configure button). You need to have the correctly formatted floppy disk in your computer's floppy disk drive. If you don't have one, you can format a blank one from within the Disk Manager module. Most importantly if you are using a floppy that already has been used in your Designer 1, you need to use the Read Disk icon along the top. The designs already on your floppy are read into the program. You can then add whatever designs you want by using the Open (icon showing an open manilla folder) or View (looks like a blue camera) buttons. Then you choose the Write Disk button to put not only your newly added designs on the floppy disk, but to also put back the ones that were already on it. Click "Yes" when asked if you want to erase designs already on the disk. It is quite safe provided you read the disk into Disk Manager first, as described above.

My viking platinum 955-E will not sew design loaded on D Card.

When you are saving designs in your software, be sure to hit the Centre button and also the Centre Design in Hoop button. Click "Apply" then save your design. Also worth checking that there are no stray stitches outside your design. Click on the Edit tab (bottom left of screen). If there are stitches outside your design, click on them (or use the lassoo tool to surround them) and hit "Delete". Be sure you are not deleting essential parts of your design. This is assuming you have 4D Embroidery, Embroidery Extra or the 4D Pro Suite. These buttons and features are not available in Organizer.

I'm using the Mega Single Hoop for the Viking Designer SE embroidery machine, because my design is too long for any other hoop. When I try to embroider, however, I get the message "Design outside hoop...

1. If the design came from the internet or a design package, it's possible that it's "center" has not been centered properly. To correct this you need to open the design in the Husqvarna Viking software and click on the "Center in Hoop" icon. That function redefines the center of the design so it will align properly in any hoop that it fits within. If you have 3d software, after clicking on that icon you physically have to put the black crosshair that designates the center in the design, in the very middle of the hoop and then save the design to your computer, then send it to the machine. The 4d software automatically centers the design in the hoop when you click on the icon.

If you have the software and you "combine" any designs together you must always click on the center design icon to recalculate or redefine the center position and then move the design's center to the middle of the hoop before saving the design. This way you center the designs center positoin around the needle position. Meaning that when you hit the start button on the machine, where ever the needle is, is where the center of your design is.

I hope this helps

Viking Rose can't install System 5 software

You may be able to find an old computer with Windows 95 or 98. Make sure that it also has a parallel port for the older R/W boxes.

You may also find that the 4D Embroidery package will do what you wish to do and it is under $400. 4D Embroidery Extra is the $700 package.

If you only want to put existing designs onto the card with no manipulation, you can get the Reader/Writer kit, $199 MSRP that includes Organizer which will allow you to load 1 design to your card at a time.

Unfortunately, System 5 was replaced by VIP which was replaced by 3D which was replaced by 4D. I don't think that system 5 will run on anything newer than Windows 98.
