    This hasnt worked for me. I have new firmware and all the software from creative.

Using the instructions below try Cleanup first, if that doesn't work... (if you have a backup of all your music on your computer), try the format option


This is from Creative's website:
Zen V Plus and Zen V

  1. Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

I had the same problem, I have creative zen v plus 2GB and it was not detected by my pc with Win XP SP3.

Connect the player, if you have already install the software go to device manager and find creative v plus , right click on it and uninstall it. Disconnect the player and go to windows media player 11, connect the player again and right click on Sync and choose Refresh Devices. Your problem will be solve!

My creative zen player used to connect to pc now it dosent

my pc stopped detecting my zen. i tried and tried on all different pcs and nothing would pick it up. couldnt even get the battery sign on the zen. thought it was knacked. then one day i plugged it in again, got distracted and walked away. when i came back about two hours later, it was detected and charging. thought maybe that it was so flat that it had to charge a wee bit before it could display anything or the pc could find it. i dont know, dont know much about these things. just a thought

I had problem like that, i m afraid the only solution is to reload firmware - you can do it on your own (try to hold play button and turn it on, menu should appear, choose reload firmware, but you need your comp to detect player to do it i m afraid) anyway, i found pro to do it for little money :p if your zen is new creative service should do it for you for free

  2. Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.

  3. Power on the player.

  4. The reset hole for the ZEN V / V Plus is located on the left side with the player facing up.

Press the "reset" button. If it didn't work, upgrade the firmware of this product. If problems still continue, contact the Creative company.

Turn on problem and detect by PC

I had a similar problem yesterday with my Creative ZEN V 2GB. After charging it with the USB, it wouldn't turn back on. No lights or anything.
I read somewhere that if you hold down the power switch for a few seconds, and while holding down stick a pin or needle into the reset switch on the side, it will reset the player.
Amazingly, this did work for mine. It now powers on with no problems. Hope that helps.

Creative Zen Nano Plus FROZEN!!!

here is a fix if your creative zen nano plus just hang on the creative logo when you turn your player on.
download, Creative ZEN Nano Plus firmware.
you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.
