TONER CHIP on CP2025 printer:
This resource may help

Gives types of chips to use, sales in USA, and certain things to take note of.
The toner reset chip replaces the original HP ID chip and is designed to be used only on refilled HP cartridges.
It is not recommended to force toner cartridges to run on empty, as this can cause damage to both the printer and the toner cartridge.
The reset chips are dedicated to one color only, so that user can not swap toners.
As for actual physical installation, just push the new ID chip in until it clicks into place. The correctly manufactured ones should be a snug fit.
I have seen techs using a drop of contact glue behind the chip-board to secure it.
Copper pads face outwards towards matching printer pins.
See photo for polarity 'square' pad.
My printer is Samsung, not HP, so your toner cartridge may be a different shape.
This worked for me: I put in a black after market cartridge (off ebay) and got the "remove shipping lock" error. I swapped chips from the empty HP cart and the after market cart. Symptoms followed the chips: empty HP cart got "remove lock" error" and the new after market cart showed empty. I bought a set of reset chips on ebay and installed the black chip on the new aftermarket cart and it worked flawlessly. You don't have to break or cut anything to swap the chips. You can work it out with a small jewelers screwdriver. You can also use the chips to extend the life of an "empty" cartridge because they're not really empty.
When trying to install a toner, it says "REMOVE SHIPPING LOCK FROM YELLOW CARTRIDGE"
They're called "toner cartridges."
- See the instructions that came with your printer, but here are the basics
The HP Color LaserJet CP2550 has 4 toner cartridges, one black and three color. Only one cartridge can be changed at a time. They are on a rotating carousel. So you first press the Rotate Carousel button until the cartridge you want to change is selected, then turn off the printer, open the top, pull out the old cartridge, put in the new (being sure it's the correct color), then pull off the tab that keeps the toner from leaking.
