Sorry, but this is bad news. The drop likely damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. There is no DIY fix, and attempting to repair it yourself will likely make the damage even worse. The camera needs professional repair.

How do I fix lens error problem on the described camera?

hi,
lens error occur normally when it fell or the lens shaken, if so open the camera, take the lens unit out, disassemble the lens unit, then fix it again properly. example below:

Does not turn on

If the camera fell and the lens had some impact it could be that the gears that open and closes the lens may have been damaged. Have the camera inspected by a traind technician as damaged lens components mostly needs to be replaced.

Lens Error

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens opens then closes, a few times then error message

no you shouldnt repair it yourself it will only make it worse, the lense have become disalligned it can be repaired for you and that is the best option. you can also try gently pulling and twisting the end of the lense and i mean gentle dont twist and pull till it pops. once you have done this switch it off and on and it may have worked to allign the lenses.

Camera lens stuck

Look at some of my posts today.
This may be that the lens is off track and may be able to be pushed back by a little force as you start the camera....see my other posts on this problem.

Lens won't close

Hey daisy16,
If this problem only started happening after you dropped your camera there is likely physical damage to the lens, and you need to have it looked at by an authorized service technician. When this camera has a hardware problem it will tell the user to turn it off and back on, but since the physical problem is not actually resolved by doing this you gets the message again.

Sincerely,
Allan
