There are 4 O2 Sensors on the 1997 GMC Jimmy V6 4.3L. All sensors are accessed from bottom. All sensors are mounted on the exhaust. Three of the sensors are on the Bank 1 side of the engine (Passenger side). Sensor 1 Bank 1 is upstream of Y joint on Passenger Side, Sensor 1 Bank 2 is upstream of Y joint on drivers side. Sensor 2 Bank 1 is mounted down stream of Y before Cat Converter on Passenger side. Sensor 3 Bank 1 is downstream of Cat Converter on passenger side.Good luck and keep me posted

Everything is located underneath the vehicle on exhaust itself... there should be two sensors as well as the catalytic converter that reside underneath on the exhaust.

It's easiest to find them from under the truck. There are 4 total, 2 on each side of the catalytic converter. The ones that make the difference is your truck running are the ones upstream, before the cat, but after the manifold. They're usually fairly easy to spot when you're under them.

2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ doe not have wires going to the catalytic converter. Code P0161, Assumption: No Bank2 Sensor 2 installed. Comments?

Easy thing first- check for a fuse for the O2 sensor heater circuit. If that is fine, probably just need to replace the O2 sensor. Code is for a bad O2 heater circuit. Sensor 2 would be after the catalytic converter.

Oxygen Sensor Replacement 1988 Chevy G20 Van 5.7 350

You'll need to crawl under the van and look at the exhaust pipes before the catalytic converter. You will see it once you take a peek.

How to replace 02 sensor p0141 bank 1 sensor 2?

there are only two O2 sensors on your vehicle. The one before the catalytic converter is bank 1 sensor 1 (also known as upstream). The one after the catalytic converter is Bank 1 Sensor 2 (also known as downstream).

You will need to jack up the car and safely support it in order to crawl under the vehicle to access the downstream O2 sensor. Unplug the connector and use a 7/8" wrench to remove the O2 sensor from the exhaust pipe. Install the new O2 sensor, tighten until snug, and plug in the connector.

Where is 2003 avalon o2 sensor(bank1-sensor1),(front upstream) ? can I install it myself without a lift?

The bank one sensor one O2 is located in the exhaust pipe before the Catalytic Converter, bank one is the cylinder bank that also contains the number one engine cylinder, in your car that would be the cylinder bank at the rear closest to the firewall (see diagram below). You will need to raise the car and crawl under it to replace the sensor and you will need a special O2 sensor socket. Remember always use safety stands to support the car when under the car for any repairs.

Where are all three o2 censors in a 1999 s10 blazer. 4 door V6 engine and 4x4

The upstream O2 sensors will be before the catalytic converter just down from where the exhaust pipe(s) attache to the exhaust manifold. The downstream O2 will be right after the catalytic converter. Once you crawl under the vehicle they will be pretty obvious where they are in the exhaust pipe.

Code po430 not sure what maybe converter

One of three (3) possibitlies:
1. Catalytic Converter is malfunctioning.
2. O2 Sensor is malfunctioning. This will be the O2 Sensor located on the Catalytic Converter. However you should check and/or replace both sensors if needed.
3. You have an Exhaust Leak.
In Order of checking:
A. Check and Repair any Exhaust Leak.
B. Replace the O2 Sensor on the Catalytic Converter 1st. Also Known as the Downstream O2 Sensor or HO2 Sensor.
C. Replace the O2 on the Exhaust Manifold prior to the Catalytic Converter. Also Known as the Upstream O2 Sensor.
D. Replace the Catalytic Converter.

Need to replace o2 sensors on a 1997 thunderbird

you will need to crawl under the car and look at the mufflers where they come out of the motor and behind the catalytic converter. you will probably have one before and after the catalytic converter on both pipes. You will have to count the wires once you find them. They will be screwed directly into the exhaust pipe.

O2 sensor?

The O2 sensor is located in the exhaust pipe prior to the catalytic converter. You'll have to get under the vehicle to see it or replace it.
