OS X 10.5 Leopard & Canon PIXMA MP510

I recently updated my Mac Operating System to Leopard, and now the scanning feature on my Canon PIXMA MP510 won't work.
I can print just fine, but my scanner doesn't work.
Does anyone know if perhaps Canon has come out with a patch for this?
Thanks.

    We have a similar problem.

We downloaded the appropriate new driver for 10.5 for a Canon CanoScan N 650U but even though this is now installed, we still don't see the scanner coming up when using ImageCapture. All help welcome.

You would think that would work.

    But it doesn't!

Mine will also print but no scanning I am afraid!

HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One printer, Scanner, Copier will not scan with Mac OS 10.4. The button flashes for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. No image appears on my computer screen.

All lot of those printers came with two separate driver's disc. Make sure that you are installing the correct for the mac and not windows. If you are you can go to the hp website and do a search on there website for the driver for mac operating system.

Trouble downloading songs from G-3 I phone to powerbook g4

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

If you are experiencing issues with downloading songs from iPhone 3G to your Powerbook G4, there are a few steps you need to check:
Make sure your Mac OS X operating system version is up to date. The most current updates for the current 3 most common Mac OS systems out today: Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger: Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Current version) Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard: Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Current version) Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard: Mac OS X 10.6.6 (Current version)
If your present version of Mac OS X does not match the current version update listed above for your system, then click on the Apple menu icon in the upper left corner of your screen and select "About this Mac" to verify. • Then close that window and click on the Apple menu icon once again and select Software Updates andrun the updates.
• Once your Mac OS X has been updated to the most current version, then you will need to visit the link below, then download and install the current version iTunes Link: Download iTunes 10 for Mac (for 10.5 Leopard or higher) Link: Download iTunes 9.2.1 for Mac (for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or earlier)
• When you have the current version of iTunes on your Powerbook, then commence to connect your iPhone 3G with your Powerbook and sync your iPhone with iTunes.
I am providing these initial steps to you, due to the limited information I have from you regarding your technical issue, but will be glad to assist you further, if you are unable to resolve your issue with these provided steps.
I hope this helps.

Canon PIXMA MX870 Wireless Printer works with Snow Leopard OS?

The MX870 is compatible with Mac OS X, all versions. I think the CD that comes with the unit will have the Mac Snow Leopard drivers on it, but if not you will be able to download them here.

How can I scan to the Mac

It will depend on a few things:

The type of printer/scanner you have (HP, Canon, Lexmark, etc) and the operating system installed on the Mac.

You can find the operating system number by clicking on the Apple Menu (top left corner of the screen) and pressing "About This Mac". In the center of this window it will say "version 10.5.8 or 10.6.2 or 10.something)".

If it's 10.5.8 - that means you are running Leopard, and you may have to download updated printer drivers from the maker of your printer.

If it's 10.6 - update to 10.6.2 (apple menu > software update).

If it's 10.6.2 - restart the computer and disconnect the scanner. Restart it and connect it. Snow Leopard should discover the correct drivers automatically.

After that, all scanning is done in the Image Capture.app (located within Applications > Utilities.

Happy scanning!

Pixma mp510 with Mac

Hey,

I had the same problem. First you want to install what is called MP Navigator, you can google that and download it easily. Then after 4 hours of searching I found out you need the driver from this link: http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/256522/canon-pixma-mp510-scanner-driver-v12.13.0-mac-os-x-free-download.html

It's the scanner driver. Hope that helps!
